Bolton told Locke, "Find those boys and I'll give you 1000 acres and a holdfast." He doesn't say alive or dead.

Bolton just suggested that Castle Black with Jon Snow would be a good place to start finding Bran and Rickon.

How the **** do you remember that quote?

Ser Pounce deserves an Emmy.

How the poison get from Sanasa's necklace into Joffrey's cup? Was this implied or explained at all?

It doesn't matter that Brienne's on a wild goose chase. Jaime knows she is in Cersei's crosshairs and I guess Tyrion asked him to protect Podrick. He kills two birds with one stone by sending them out of Kings Landing. So they'll diddle around the countryside for a few years, Brienne will be proud to be on her mission, and they'll both be safer than if they stayed put.

I could've sworn it was Marg, because she's the one who takes the cup from Joffrey after his first swig, and because she briefly puts her left hand over the top of it, but recent episodes show that wasn't the case. Marg didn't know Olenna was in on it, so Olenna must've done it off camera I guess.

yeah, this. i mean it's possible brienne stumbles into accomplishing something but i think it's clearly a move to get them out of harm's way as well.

we pretty much new marge wasn't in on it in the immediate aftermath, first scene where olenna is talking to her and she seems pretty oblivious.

right after the murder ep i suggested that there is a shot implying that the cup was moved or picked up while joffrey is swinging his sword at the pie. it was pretty inconclusive but could have been a hint that olenna was dosing the glass.

pretty ballsy of her actually to assume that there is 0% chance that marg takes a sip of his wine before giving it back to him.

Also pretty ballsy of her to have dosed the cup in front of the whole wedding party.

Ban the guy that posted screens of olenna and the necklace 2 eps ago. That was more than just "being an attentive, enthusiastic viewer". Gimme a break.

LeBron is Cersei and Michael Jordan is Pycelle, imo.

it's worth noting that the White Walkers appear to be an intelligent race of some kind and aren't simple zombies. I'm basing this on the scene from tonight and already suspected as much in that they tend to leave artistic patterns with bodies. probably some kind of ancient race.

hmm... Littlefinger for hand in this scenario? he's been a close ally of the Lannisters in their mind. otherwise a character we haven't met before is most likely.

More likely than someone who was already on the council, like Varys or Pycelle?

it's incredibly obvious to me where her story is heading soon. they've foreshadowed it quite a few times through Ser Barristan including tonight. Right now she's a great liberator and while she isn't insincere in her efforts there she's a Conqueror first and foremost. there is exactly no chance she remains a sweet Liberator of the people when she heads to Westeros & attempts to reclaim the throne. Ser Barristan says something along the lines of "I've seen many wars none of which didn't involve thousands of innocents dying."

Her strategy of "Demand exactly what I want, refuse to compromise at all, make threats, completely annihilate my enemies, and have it all work out exactly like what I wanted" surely can't last.
04-28-2014 , 01:54 AM
Well, she has to choose some kind of other crusade. Slavery is illegal in Westeros.

Not a likely candidates given he doesn't Lord over anything. Arryn ruled over the Vale, Ned over the North, and Tywin over Casterly Rock. It'd be a person they trust who holds a high position. Littlefinger qualifies esp once he marries Lysa (if). He's a logical candidate anyways. Another reason why I don't quite understand his angle with Sansa. He still has plenty of power to gain through the relationship with the Lannisters. All that goes poof in the event they know he absconded with Sansa. He'd become the top enemy of the crown.

Well, hopefully GRRM is more clever than what I can picture, as of right now I'm imaginng the white walker undead army kicking everyone's ass until Dany shows up with her dragons and f's them up, thus winning over all the common folk and wanting to see the Targaryen dynasty restored.

If it's something that straightforward I will be disappoint.

It can last so long as she has the most powerful army. What cannot last is where she's a kind and gentle Conqueror. Kinder and gentler sure, Alexander the Great style, but a lot of innocents will be slaughtered once she goes to war with the seven kingdoms.
