Re: Is approved posts the way to go?

the only thing I worry about now is aren't only patently not-dead-on accurate things being approved? How does a mod sus out a genuine prediction that happens to be absolutely accurate vs. someone intentionally spoiling? And if those things don't go through doesn't that imply it's a spoiler and therefore a correct guess? And doesn't that imply everything that does go through is at least somewhat wrong/inaccurate? There is a lot of meta going into mod approvals. We might end up getting reverse spoiled based on mod meta-actions

Re: Is approved posts the way to go?

No posts updated from 330 pm to almost 11 shows the need for poster approval rather than post approval.

Can't have it both ways Alex. We are just going to bring more mods on for the GoT forum.

Can I put my name in to be approved to post if that's what we're doing here?

I like this idea too btw obviously.

Also I told people to ignore that **** stick SaltyDog. Hell I even reported his post that said the characters name. People who have me on ignore (IE boomshakalaka) need to seriously take me off ignore.

woah, looks like I dodged a bullet by unsubscribing. Can't believe someone would be so pathetic as to go to such lengths to purposely spoil a ****ing tv show for people he's never even met.

Hope the mountain gets that saltydog guy in a head squeeze one day.

Kinda feel the same way, part of the fun is theorycrafting about the plot in these threads imo. Otherwise it just turns into a wow fun episode and who is the hottest girl type thread.

Yeah but the ignore feature doesn't help when he comes back with new accounts.

I don't believe there's a way to have certain posters bypass the approval process. Something a mod can do though is enter in one's user notes that they are a legitimate TV poster and therefore their posts are OK even if they nail something. Then other mods who help out here will know to let those posts through.

27o consider my suggestion, its a good way to relay this info to other mods.

I think its better to use these threads as commentary and fact/character clarification - just let the show go and enjoy the ride. Reading theories doesn't really enhance the experience imo.

Just as 2+2 gets safer with spoilers, I believe some complete dumb ***** I shouldn't even follow on Twitter possibly spoiled me something huge. Sigh

Yes it has to be like this. If mods don't let posts through when they get something accurate, we'll all get spoiled more often than if we go back to the old system. Most of my predictions are wrong, but I have gotten some close to perfect too

It should be more about the posters than the posts. Like I'm 100% positive boomshakalaka isn't a bookreader, so I'll read anything he writes even if he inadvertently makes a super accurate prediction. There are a lot of regs here who that can be said about.

Is it possible to make this a subforum of OOTV instead of OOT?

I don't believe 2 levels of subforums are possible.

Yeah, it's not ideal. And it seems like a lot of work for the mods so thanks mods!

I'm new to GOT (just watched every episode this spring). Are there any old threads that have been culled of future spoilers I could read to get speculation and analysis of previous seasons? I've learned a lot about the show from reading here.
