Can’t say that you’re wrong. I’ve always given people more chances then they deserve. He got me.

not even sure who is a worse person, the guy that gives away 15% of his mtt bink rather than 40% or the guy that essentially wants to get paid for being a good friend.

I want to get paid for the action that was swapped. That fact that I was a good friend is pretty much irrelevant. I gave up 40% of all my binks leading up to Sunday. How is it fair that I don’t get my 40% when the table is turned?

joesolo561, don't beat yourself up about having a good heart. It's a great character trait to have.

Just be more careful and selective moving forwards of who you give some of that heart to and always be aware that the vast majority of people in poker are completely out for themselves and many of them are devious and clever actors in order to get what they want.

As for the percentages of bad, or very selfish people, I'll stick to ~80% in poker and I'd put it at ~35% in the general population with ~26% of the ~35% being men.

i guess thats why you felt it was necessary to post every single detail of completely irrelevant past dealings with your buddy.

dont get me wrong i feel bad for you. its rly unethical that your friend acted the way he did regarding his big bink. however you aren’t entitled to anything unfortunately.

I was really just using this as an outlet for my feelings. This wasn’t an attempt to get more money. The situation as a whole really ****ed with me and I needed to get everything out in the open that was clogging up my mind.

And I have to disagree with you. I AM entitled to it. I gave up 40% of all my action all week so that means I DESERVE the same 40% in return. He wouldn’t have even been in the position to play the god damn tournament if it wasn’t for me shipping him part of my winnings all week. This has nothing to do with how good of a friend I’ve been to him although any rational person would consider it as a contributing factor. He even admitted to me that if the roles were reversed, he knows that I would give up the 40% with no hesitation. He will deny this, but I could care less. My track record speaks for itself.

Your (former) friend sounds like The Scorpion in this fable.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scorpion_and_the_Frog

He knows some things he does are wrong and can cause bad outcomes, but he can't help it, it's in his nature.

pretty hard read tbh. I hate to see this happen, it seems you really liked this friend but he was using you all along and was never fair to you just always , ALWAYS looking at his own interest. You can not change these people , they come from ****ty families often, growing up in ****ty conditions and abuse likely, or they ****ed up so bad themselve along the way that they hit the rock bottom and have no conscience anymore. You should stay away from these kinds of people always, its better to be alone or with someone that you like less but is a good person then with likeable scumbags. My advvice to you would be to kick his ass, but i guess too late for that. Thats pretty much the only way to balance things out , as you are never getting anything from him ever.

Still waiting for you to put his name, phone number and address here.

Silly of you not to name names. You are just letting people get scammed by this sociopath in the future?

The fact he gave you 15% indicates to me that he knew you had a valid claim on the 40%. Unfortunately, it's also an unenforceable claim (I'm guessing, not a lawyer).

I feel bad for you, but am not surprised by the actions of your 'friend.' Take some solace in knowing that he'll be broke again soon and you won't have to deal with his toxicity any further.

His 2p2 name is also wubbalubdub. I’m actually surprised he didn’t chime in and leave a post here but it’s possible he doesn’t know the thread exists. I don’t think I’ve ever regretted a friendship so god damn much.

they both had 40% of each others action. that is what swapping is. He is entitled to the 40%. If you had 40% of your friends action, and your friend didn't pay, I highly doubt you would be acting all high and mighty

tough story, but agreed, you're just enabling this if you don't post his full name and picture

look at the other threads, people are getting their phone numbers and home addresses published over $100

By doing this, you won't get your money, but you'll help some other poor sap from getting taken advantage of because his name will forever show up here when googled

say goodbye to all future staking and loans

you'd be surprised how often people post that stuff and then later post an update stating it's been resolved and ask the mods to delete the post

this is why he's exploiting you, your toothless.

You should have turned off the internet or unplugged his computer when he told you 10% but you wanted to let him concentrate????

if you don't stand up for yourself, this is what happens, I'm surprised he gave you anything

Honestly, start a new thread that has his real name in the title

spend some time in this sub, you'll find a lot of inspiration

i mean seriously, you're not even saying you got scammed, you're trying to soften it with non "value owned" nonsense
