I didn't want to have to go this route but I'm gonna share how I got scammed this past year. I mostly want to get these guys' names out there, since from what I hear, Wes is heavily involved in running live games in Barrie or in Toronto (not sure exactly). So maybe this will stop someone else from getting scammed by these guys.

I'm from Winnipeg, MB. I was introduced by a friend to a raked app game (club called "Mid Town Poker") in the poker bros app. I was told this club was based out of Barrie/Toronto area in Ontario. Guys in charge were listed as Wes Nunes (guy is on Facebook from Barrie, Ontario). Steven (not positive about last name), and Jesse Salazar.

Started out well, and I had a series of deposits and withdrawals. Jesse Salazar was the only guy I was in contact with during this whole time. Then, on August 19th, 2020, I log on and it says "you have left the club". Which I never did. I had gone on a hot streak the previous couple days, and my account balance was at a peak amount of $8200 and whatever change. So I text Jesse, but no answer.

Then I text Wes, and he says the bank froze their account with 70k in it, and that there's a 3 month investigation going on. He assures me that ill be paid out at some point, regardless what happens with the bank (which makes sense, since game was raked). Me and Wes are in touch throughout these 3 months, with him always saying "no news".

When the 3 months had passed, I ask Wes whats up, and no answer at all. Texts and calls, nothing.

Then I remember that I have Jesse Salazar's email address from the etransfers back and forth. So I email him. We exchange a bunch of emails, and what he basically said was that he had settled up with Wes and Steven, so he didn't have my cash. So since I'm living miles away and he's in the same area as these guys, and since he was my agent and he chose to work with these guys previously as partners, I asked if he could get in touch with them. I felt like he had some responsibility with this and told him that. He got super defensive, getting pretty mad and saying "the more u feel like that and are blaming me, the more likely I am to just stop answering these emails". And gave a bs excuse about not wanting to contact Wes and Steven about this since he hasn't talked to them in a long time and wasn't involved in this anymore, but that he "felt bad" that I didn't get this cash back. Made no sense why he wouldn't contact them about it. So I'm not sure if Jesse is involved in this scam or if he's just a really bad agent. Seemed fishy though.

Last resort I call Steven, who says he's gonna meet up with Wes and get back to me on what the deal is with this whole thing. Never gets back to me and won't answer calls or texts.

So at this point, I have no idea if the bank investigation ever even happened in the first place, or if it was all just part of the scam.

A week ago I let all 3 guys know that I was gonna post this at this time, if I still haven't heard from them. Haven't heard anything so here we are.

If there was some miscommunication and Wes has been caught up trying to pay everyone back and still has intentions of paying me, I would gladly remove all my posts about this and explain the misunderstanding, clearing their names.

But at this point, seems like these guys are scammers. The 90 day investigation was up on November 18th, and its been over 4 weeks since then. No reason for them to have zero communication with me about this.

With these guys' involvement in running live poker games in Ontario, wouldn't be surprised if someone on here knows them.

i know its w/e this is more for new people but theres huge risks playing on small clubs, even on pokerbros, dont do it.

Really? Kind of shocking to hear this.
Played at his live game quite a few times no issues. Although that was pre pandemic so a year+ if not more. Deep game, good list of players. if they had Money issues I never saw it or heard about it. In fact, its one of the few games i would recommend to other players I know and bring players there. Safe, Secure and a good atmosphere.

Never had a chance to play on them for poker bros as I was doing quite well with another group and focused there. so kind of shocked to hear this just wouldn't think of them ever having issues like this.

Thanks man. Thats what I thought at first too. They seemed on top of everything and no signs of anything shady, until this all happened.

Not even sure if they know this thread exists, so if you feel up to letting them know you saw this and asking them what happened, would be much appreciated. Seems like Wes & Steven have my number blocked now

FWIW dont think hes running any games anymore. i still had their texts up until like 2-3 weeks ago. nothing
