The user has also been posting in other study group forums looking for potential victims. The con goes as followed bring them into a RIO study group. Tell them about potential to move up to higher groups with the likes of "Shaun Deeb" etc and brings in two players who have fake tracking sites to notable players. They are never online except at certain times and David Bill the person in question recommends videos to watch.

I was first suspicious do to his poor English as he is from the UK according to skype but i looked passed it. Finally after two weeks or so in the group he told me that some of the higher stakes players were ramping up for the WCOOP in September and hiring a coach named Robby Westrom.

They also have a team of scammers working on this so not sure how we can fully stop this as they seem to just change their IPs and Skype accounts.

mateo94 notified me of this in the pm.

luckily, i doubt that the scammers using my name brought in any customers as i'm not known in any way, hendon mob isn't very impressive, etc.. i really have no idea why they chose my name. but they could easily substitute in dozens of other names and perhaps luck into some scenario where the victim had interest.

good to know that it was not U in fact, he was recommended to me by

BetterC 4ll, a guy who did very well last year, but I guess that that was not the real one

either.

I tried to improve my game and find the right coach but

instead I ran into a scam trap, if it wouldn't be my money burned and I wouldn't need it,

it would be funny : (

fake betterc4ll tried this on me too in February. I posted in the coaching forum looking for suggestions or recommendations and he sent me a PM very quickly.

I googled robby westrom and im sure he is a fine player but it just didn't seem to add up. sent him my skype but never added him, because it just felt off and forgot about it until now.

Really funny that a scammer pos has the balls to make his skype name "jackpot" though.

I've banned him.

If anyone with these kind of suspicions PMs a mod in the first instance they can be dealt with more quickly.

jayaprakashjv guy was posting thread begging for staking on 2p2 6+months ago, seems he is persistent.

I exchanged a few trolling PMs with him as i reported it.

Thank you will do next time unfortunately I don't think that wil prevent them from starting up new accounts. My hope is that this thread along with the other will show up in Google searches to prevent future scams. I say this because that's what helped me sniff this out.

Yup, threads/posts always help, thanks. For the most part, these posts/threads belong in the Marketplace, but I'll leave it here for a couple more days to get some more NVG exposure.

Unfortunately, the threads only work for those who are cautious enough to do their due diligence in the first place, but one can only help those who are willing to help themselves in these matters.

This guy is from india and i have his Face book profile as well
He begged for months for staking i gave him 25$ to play micro SNGs
he played all kind of jack **** and busted
Avoided speaking to me until i told him ill post in the Indian FB group and his FB page

It took him 2 months to repay me back 25$ lol and also an abuse that he never wants to talk to me again and basically GTFO.

The Fake Robby Westrom guy keeps on contacting me,

does any of u guys know if there is anything I can do to cause him troubles.

He is using neteller usually, telling people he is in Vegas and can't receive money in a

different way.

I would at least like to see his neteller gets blocked, it will make it less easy for him to

receive the $ from the "clients"

+ he keeps on updating pictures of the real Robby Westrom,

including a waiting list of players whom I would like to contact to prevent them from

being ripped off
