I am surprised it took this long but after hundreds and perhaps over one thousand players we finally had someone that had a complete mental breakdown while playing (10 NL and 16 NL on Stars). I am not exactly certain what set it off but we had to have an intervention as he was spewing at his tables, while swearing at all the players at the tables, and telling each of them how he was going to have sex with their mothers. His fetishes aside, a chat moderator came and I assume he got a ban, and to his credit ( I suppose) he actually went insane and stayed within the limits of his stake! Needless to say, he required a "time out" but when we tried to calm him we essentially were asked about our mothers as well. We got him to send the last $100ish of his monster $400 stake before he dumped it all in his quest for the perfect mother, and the skype chats with him did not go particularly well.

I will admit that once we saw there was no hope of his fragile sanity returning I eventually got out some popcorn and watched just to see what a complete nervous breakdown was in case other players may experience it in the future.

Our suggestion would be he may not be the best player to stake at this time, though he will stay within his play limits even when going on complete monkey tilt, so his bankroll management skills in that regard get some due credit!








The other one is hardly as exciting. This person we backed for 2 weeks before he declared he had to end the stake while in makeup because he had no money to eat food. He is American and got a stake with someone else to play on Stars using a VPN and his updates (after he sent back $10 one time a few months ago) indicate that eating is still a challenge and he has yet to make any money playing poker. His friends do believe he can crush 200NL though apparently none will back him for some reason in those games.

sold his action to a 10k sunday tourney on the 9th on ultimate poker which i bought 60% of. through PM we also agreed i would buy 60% of his 1k nightly for the same day. he ended up winning the sunday tourney, afterwards he pm'd me his phone number asking i call him and we discussed how payment would be established and i agreed to buy 60% of his next 7 plays of the UP 1k nightly. as UP does not allow p2p transfers, he would cash out a check for the winnings then when it arrived deposit my share in my bank account as i did not want to do this over paypal. UP checks do not take longer than a week to be received and for the first 5 days he would pm me to say the check hasn't been received but as of monday morning went silent. he hasn't responded to any of my pms since despite having logged in multiple times and the number he gave me (which was active on the 9th when i called to discuss cashout) is now disconnected. since he lives in another state and was just residing in reno i thought it was possible he was simply on the road returning home, but he was playing on UP last night. since tuesday (when i noticed the phone number disconnected) i have been accumulating as much info on him as i could in the event this post would have to be made.

i have contacted him on facebook, excerpt from it in case he sees this post but ignores the FB message. if he does not comply with payment by 11:59 pm pacific time sunday i will:

I have created a Facebook page for this purpose as my first mode of action but am awaiting confirmation of a couple of things before I publish it. In the meantime, I have e-mailed the contents of that page which detail his scamming to his employers (he was cc'd into the conversation too so he'd know that I sent it). Staked him in the later half of 2012. He decided to buy out of his MU for $200. I gave him plenty of time to repay since I knew he was in rough financial shape. Would just give him a reminder every month or so. After 6 months was too much told him he needed to start paying up, he agreed to send what he could at least once a week. This was about 3 weeks ago, haven't heard from him since, is not responding to messages.

Staked him for about a month. After 3 weeks he was up to $2600 on the original $1000 BR and decided he would take out $1200 of his profits to play on another site, on his own profits, without ever asking me. He agreed to repay it at the end of the month. When the end of the month came he didn't pay it back and I had to chase him. And he also missed the split date which was listed in the contract.

When I finally got a hold of him, he let me know the BR was now down to $110 from the original $1600. Sindri decided he would send money around to other players and also cashed out some money to Neteller for his own personal use. He didn't seem to think there's anything wrong with doing that on a backer's BR/profits. After a discussion he agreed to pay me back in full. He paid a big portion of it, late of course, and after telling me he would pay me back the remainder ($300) in the next 24 hours, he hasn't replied to me or come online since (4 days ago).

I gave him a lot of time/chances before I posted this and he was well aware I was going to if he didn't do the right thing, but instead he chose to be completely irresponsible/dishonest and unreliable some more, so here is my warning to other backers: don't stake him.

JULY 2014 UPDATE

Stake Monster has reported "The player in question paid me back."

It's dissapointing to post this but I think I should, especially since i've been selling some small action in the marketplace.

First off, I'll say this guy was a good friend (internet poker friend albeit) and I loaned him $100 after he got dropped from his stake cause he was in big MU, and he wanted to grind.

I gave him a month to pay back initially and then gave him longer, he came up with alot of excuses.

I ended up getting payed back from a person who he had borrowed money from before and a mutual friend of both of us (LO) so I got my money back but as far as i know he owes LO a total of 200 (which includes my 100)

In addition he owes King white $100 from a part time poker stake

Do not stake this guy as he will just avoid you and not log onto skype and make up bs responses as not to pay.
