Invested in a stable run by ottocat01 (James) and Natedog1 (Nate) in 2011. Towards end of 2011, they agreed to buy me out and downsize.

Nathan, 12/8/2011:
Hey Josh, sorry I wasnt able to give input on the stable situation the other day I just had so many tables going. I basically agree we have to do something immediatly that can work for all parties involved. Basically this is the deal James and I came up with today. We pay you a buyout of $4500 for the stable to be paid in full within 4 months. In return we take over the entire stable including 100% of reload obligation effective the day of our agreement. These are the basic parameters of the deal and we have no problem putting it in writing or whatever u want. Please let us know if these terms are satisfactory to you if not we can talk some more. We would like to get this done in next day or so if possible. Talk to you soon.

James and I, 12/8:
[12:50:28 PM] Josh: " We pay you a buyout of $4500 for the
stable to be paid in full within 4 months. In return we take over the
entire stable including 100% of reload obligation effective the day of
our agreement."
[12:52:19 PM] James : are changes you would make to it?
[12:54:21 PM] Josh: No, but I have a question.
[12:54:43 PM] Josh: What do ya'll plan on doing with the stable?
[12:55:40 PM] James : probably running a very small stable like
nathan and i talked about prior to our agreement
[12:56:26 PM] Josh: Ok, I see, yeah well that sounds good. Do
you think we will settle the 4500 in installments or all at once?
[12:57:04 PM] James : havent talked to nathan about it
[12:57:21 PM] James : but i think it would be whatever is best
for you, given the timeframe we're allowing
[12:57:36 PM] James : you're allowing..
[12:59:26 PM] Josh: Ok, I'd prefer 3 or 4 payments over the time period.
[1:01:06 PM] James : 3 x 1500?
[1:01:24 PM] James : at like 45 days from now, (x) days from now
then the final 1500 within 4 months?
[1:02:06 PM] Josh: Yeah, that would work well for me.
[1:06:24 PM] James : ok
[1:07:23 PM] Josh: So like around Jan. 23rd would be the first one.
[1:07:30 PM] Josh: Do you think that's enough time?
[1:09:58 PM] James : yes
[1:17:38 PM] Josh: Ok well can we just finalize it in an
e-mail or something to make it official?
[1:17:47 PM] Josh: Just a short message summing what we just said?
[1:20:47 PM] James : yes

January 29, 2012: 1st $1500 received
April 2, 2012: 2nd $1500 received
June 6, 2012: $750 received

At this time I was told to expect the final $750 to come from Nate...

June 29, 2012: e-mail from Nate,
Hey Josh, so sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I may need to break the payments up into 250$s if possible. I am hoping I can get the whole 750 paid within a month or so but I cant gaurantee it as money has been tight the last 3 months. Ill keep you up to date on a more frequent basis until I get it paid. Also how are things going for you out there during the series? Hit me up and let me know how ur doing.

August 8, 2012, e-mail from Nate,
Hey Josh, just wanted to check in with you and let you know I havent forgot about the $750. Im hoping I can get a payment if not the whole thing out to you in the next month. Sorry about the wait. Gl in your games.

October 12, 2012, skype,
[10/12/2012 8:35:59 AM] nathan gentry: Hey man give me some bank info I got 300$ for u and the rest nov 6th

November 18, 2012 e-mail,
Hey man the i have the money for u in my barclays account. I havent been able to access it because i list my pin sentry device so i had to have them mail me a telephone access code to my old roomates house it should be there monday then i can transfer your money.
Il be sure to keep you up to date this week.
Sent from my iPhone

Nov 28, 2012 e-mail,
Recieved this morning will send today or first thing in the morning.
Sent from my iPhone

Sounds like what happened was James decided to cover the entire second payment himself and they planned on splitting last payment. They were supposed to split all of them, but things went well for James and he covered the second one as he knew Nate was in a tough spot. This is all on Nathan.

Tell Jared to check his bank transfers from may-sept 2011(I emailed him asking him to do this on the 28th), I would but I have no online banking and am far away from a bank/don't have a car. I sent him money for the makeup after sending back the roll. I asked for aim logs but apparently doesn't have AIM anymore. In addition, it should be known that I only received one email, and it was a mass email with no personalization, I assumed it was just a mistake as I had previously sent back the roll and makeup so I didn't bother replying. Pretty sure you guys had my phone number, wish you would have called it first or something.

Anders Ljungkvist is a scammer and thief. Sent him a small amount to get him started on a 6-max SNG stake on stars almost 2 months back and have not had contact since. He plays everyday and has ridiculous volume for that level, definitely a reg on stars.
Anders has recently contacted me and made things right by paying everything back.

Unfortunately also got hit by this scumbag for a bit over 1K, I assume this reference is also illegitimate and maybe just the scammer himself.
Got some screenshots of his facebook and a few of his friends on there saved so when I find the time might send some messages alerting them what this scum has been up to, perhaps opening a site similar to the "famous" nickraineyisathief site may be a good idea also. Sorry I didn't post this earlier (seems like it would have been too late anyway), at the time I had no idea I was the only one and thought there was a chance I could sort it out.

Jesse Montoya (Jessebooy) has not responded to my messages since October 20th. Jesse was struggling results wise and I gave him one last chance to play on Stars and 888. He then put in literally no volume whatsoever after which I informed him that he was being dropped. He agreed to send back the remaining money in the accounts and I have not heard from him since. Obviously a more than reasonable amount of time has transpired leading to this post warning others than at this time he can be considered a scammer.

The amount is nominal (in the region of $200) and it is baffling to me that someone would burn their reputation and have this smoking gun as to their character on the internet for such an amount

Well he already ruined his reputation from rolling another stake and being denied access to PTP because of it in 2010 due to a $2.25 STAKE. $200 is a big step UP.

He is obviously not to be trusted if you stake him. Including the wins he obviously would have cleared MU and shown a decent profit.

One day I started playing hu cash and I had an upswing nearly doubling my roll, I thought I was very good at poker but I lost everything of course, in the same format. I started grinding 7$-15$ again and I managed to pay back everything because I understood what a horrible mistake I made

Since then, I worked very hard in my game, I was a winning regular in 1000$ sngs in pokerstars and after that in 350$ abi mtts playing mainly in natural8/ggpoker. In both formats I was staked by Feruell and Matthias Eibinger, who are both reputable members of our community. The first one is a Russian backer who is staking highstakes regulars and the second one is a highroller reg and the cofounder of pokercode. I was staked even to this year and they trusted me with thousands of dollars

I went into 100k+ downswings twice if I remember correct and both times I grinded everything back. There wasn’t a moment where anyone would question my integrity, I was fully transparent and there wasn’t a moment where 1$ was missing from my accounts. There was never a moment of doubt, we never ever had any issues whether I was playing online or live

I cant undo what I have done but I tried my best to pay back everyone which I achieved in 2013, I am not that person anymore, I understood and still understand it was a horrible mistake. Unfortunately I cant change my past

How did you not consider that said partner could have been the one who took the money, etc.. I am aware he didn't exactly have a bank statement or similar proof to show you immediately (for legitimate reasons, no internet banking) but given his story surely you should have checked this out.

I think this was handled really poorly and unreasonably on your part, and even though you do acknowledge his negative feedback should be deleted you clearly owe an apology here. His name (which can come up on google), e-mail etc was posted in here when he did nothing wrong, and nor did you have any reason to believe he did. Sorry if this sounds harsh but I've responded to PMs from 3 different people about this matter, answered some questions/given some advice on Skype etc and it just really should have been handled better. It's not his fault if you worked with shady staking partners, nor if you couldn't figure out that some money was sent to them.
I have already asked for the negative feedback to be removed and have acknowledged our wrong in the situation. I will say however that he had 2-3 weeks to respond to our email with a simple email stating, stake ended and sent to x. He chose to ignore it and that led to our making the negative feedback we did. I already apologized to Christian by email when the issue was resolved and my asking for feedback to be removed was an admission on wrong on our part already.

No stakeroll.
This was a combination of bookkeeping error on stakers' part and tardiness on horse's response.

HO HO HO!!!

While most players were good, a couple found themselves on the naughty list this year.

1)

Real Name: Pop Mihai Florin

Location: Romania

PokerStars: FearlessX18

skype: pop.florin27

email: florin_pop190@yahoo.com

One of our stake mentors, with a pure soul, signed up this player who was eager to become a better poker player. Typically we do not start players of this skill level, but in the holiday spirit we decided to give it a try.

I watched in horror early on to his outdated (and bad) 2006 style to the game. I spoke with him briefly and started wondering if I was actually speaking to an adult as his behavior was equivalent of a very young child. I actually checked the ID provided to be sure he was actually not 7 years old or so, and indeed we were simply dealing with a severely developmentally challenged individual.

Once we realized what we had we tried to end it gracefully, but unfortunately he could not process what "return the bankroll" meant, so he explained that he took some to buy a book and a sausage.

We certainly found that information interesting ( no idea how spicy the sausage was), and after he continued to not return the very small bankroll we started getting flashbacks to "Office Space" as this person kept reporting on his progress (despite our repeated attempts to end the stake).

He said he had to make sure we made our money back, and to his credit he kept playing the lower limits with our money even though we insisted the stake was over. His reports kept saying "next week I will win guys!"

Sadly, this all came to an end when he tried with the last $50 to win it all back by moving up and apparently they respected his raises and general play as much as the baby stakes competition did.

With only the funds to buy another sausage (he lost the money for a second book) he promised us that when he gets a summer job he will pay us back.

Part of me was hoping the whole time that this person was doing a very bizarre, time consuming level, but eventually I did have to accept that we actually staked one of the slowest humans to ever live.

My suggestion would be that nobody else stake him at this time, unless he is well fed, up to date on his reading and has his summer job going.

2)

Real Name: Cosnita Marius

Location: Romania (again)

PokerStars: mariusmarcel

skype: marross87

email: ace_of_clumbs@yahoo.com

Now this is a better criminal, he at least had a plan. He signed a small contract, never reported, claimed a death in the family, claimed he had a severe drug and gambling problem (information we have passed onto Pokerstars out of concern), and then took the money and did the degen routine.

We expect no summer job kickbacks from him, and we expect he will end up about where everyone else who we reported here has ended up - out of poker collecting cans if they go for an honest days work.

This thread really is effective - I check on past players we reported and nearly all of them are done with poker and/or scammed other backers who did not take 5 seconds to search them here first.

We did tell Pop Florin that he could pay us back by coaching this second person and provided him with all of his contact information and personal details including his license and other ID, and based on the communication pattern of Pop we hope that will produce a happy meeting at some point.

Two naughty little boys to end 2012 for us. We wish everyone a happy holiday season!

Sorry, but I am confused

This is same guy....

http://forum.parttimepoker.com/repor...shark-dns.html

Had him on stake with Team Moshman starting in mid September for 3.50$ 18 man SNGS. For 2 months he followed the rules, and was playing the games he was supposed to. Then, about a week ago, when I checked his sharkscope, he had played other games that weren't part of the stake including a few mtts, some 7$ 18 mans, and a plo tourney. When I went to speak to him about it, he said he only had 200$ left in his roll. This was very bizarre as he wasn't down any money that month, even after playing those games he wasn't supposed to, and his running roll was 500$ so there was 300$ that was unaccounted for. Eventually, he confessed that he had withdrawn the money that was unaccounted for to help pay for school without telling us. We asked him to transfer us the 200$ he had left and that we would give him the chance to make things right and pay back the other 300$ of stake money he owed. Instead, he chose to continue playing with the amount of money he had left without our consent and subsequently lost the rest.

Yes, same person (that one was written by the mentor with the pure soul). His reporting is accurate as well (he does not have access to our email account, so he did not see the subsequent weird weekly/daily updates

emails included:

I'm really sorry about this situation and i want you to know that i have always dreamed to be in such a great team...and believe me if i was a small time criminal i wouldn't have contacted you and tell about the situation...the truth is that i used 175$ to pay something for my school and meat to eat...i was affraid to tell the truth first... because i didn't want to lose the deal with you....Please give me one more week and i'll try to bring the balance back... you can check that today i made around 100$.Thank you ! and again i'm really sorry i acted like this....I'm looking forward to receiving an answer from you...

my many replies (was a long email chain) included very boring suggestions like

My suggestion to you is you send $100 to show you have some good intentions

which obviously never happened, and as I did mention above he did continue playing for the most part the "correct games" even after we asked him to return his bankroll several times. He filed 3 reports as well after we ended the stake (a record we do not expect to be broken any time soon).

When he had no money to report, this is what he offered as his farewell email:

Hello,
First of all i would like you to know that i'm really sorry about the situation and that my intentions were good and i wanted to pay you back the money but i played some games(because this was my only way to win money i had no other choice...) and runned really bad you can check on sharkscope...and ended with a zero cashier(can provide print screens withboth history and cashier...)...You can start posting i really deserve to end my online poker career at this point it seems that poker is not for me you were right with the emotionaly thing...As regards the money i can't give them back as i'm on 0 balance and i don't work so i don't earn any money but i promise you from all my heart that i'll work this summer and give you the money back.
Thank you and i'm really happy to have met you , i'm sorry that it ended like this it seems i'm a scumbag i'll work a lot to change my life and the person I am... i shouldn't have used other people's money for my own needs i lost the situation since then when i saw that i have only 200$ in my cashier and played higher games to earn the money back and this is how it ended...
Keep up the good work you guys are a great team and i'm very happy that my dream came true at least for a short period(to be part of this team) even though i know that i'm a shame right now...But please don't worry i'll give you back the money so don't consider them lost....
All best!

When he said All Best! I was hoping it was actually just a crazy multi month level as that is about how I usually end my posts

All the best.

We began staking Stephen Grocott (April Tears on Stars) on the 22nd September. He quickly got into makeup and, after taking a long break in October, confessed on the 6th November that he had stolen money from the account. He owes us $1900 in stolen funds and approximately $3600 in makeup.

He initially claimed he could pay back by the end of this year, but we instead suggested a very reasonable payment plan that would see the full amount paid back by next summer. He has now missed the first four payment dates and we have yet to receive a dollar.

He says he has no money coming in right now and still has every intention of paying us back, and I am optimistic this is the case. I will update this thread as and when this situation changes.

21 years old from Poland has been staked by us for 18 months, and decided now to withhold his stake money at the end of the stake. From the conversations we have had with him in an attempt to get this resolved amicably, it is clear his moral compass is way off. I know that he is also actively looking for stakes, so please be warned this guy SHOULD NOT BE STAKED.

Do Not Stake

Pokerstars screenname : Boyvbeu

1. He asked for reloads while SS didn't show him downswinging at all. It was a time period in which he asked for 4k in reloads, SS showed him at -$150. He then upswinged and sent it back as "Makeup", but if he wasn't downswinging before, we just got our 4k back, but he pocketed most of the money he received during this time period. We waited for him to ask for one reload, then asked for an audit.

2. He would not send it, which obviously says so much in of itself. Also, he had been with us for over a year. There shouldn't be a problem to send a player audit to prove one`s trustworthiness.

So that's that

Contacted a new poster via Skype claiming to be a regular GC trader.
The newb smartly PMed the regular and found he does not use Skype.

Be especially wary of all trade attempts via off-site contact.
