It has been a few days, how is the progress of paying us back going?

An update on the situation;

Jurrien has accepted he stole / degenned off some of his roll, we agreed he would pay back $500 and I would write the rest off as a bad debt.

He has since made no contact and no effort to pay.

He has also changed his facebook page to;

I have been in contact with Geroge Serban regarding our staking arrangement.

George has accepted full responsibility for taking the bankroll he was provided with by me when he did not have permission to do so and we have arranged a payback plan.

I have decided to eat the makeup which was on the stake and settled on a repayment plan of $200-$250 per month until $1,000 is paid, with the first payment due at the end of May 2014.

I do believe that George's theft of the bankroll was an act of desperation and that what has happened was not premeditated on his part.

I have spoken with the other people who had dealings with George and heard their side of the story. I'm not in a position to comment on their disputes as my deal with George was made completely separately from theirs.

I will update this post at the end of the month to let people know if George has met his repayment goals.

I staked Steffen on the 6th of April. He was to payout any winnings as soon as he bust. He busted and instantly signed off. He returned a few days later and told me he was mad, I accepted and asked him to send my share. He told me his GF had just arrived but he had sent funds. The $$$ never arrived and he was MIA for a few days, he returned and asked for MORE money and told me he could repay both the previous payout and the newest stake tomorrow if I did. I obviously refused and he refuses to reply to me on Skype.

Note: Steffen gave me a reference from another player on Pocketfives. I have since mailed the reference and he refuses to reply (even though I can see he has since signed on).

I will update this post if Steffen does the right thing. Until then, please do not stake.

I have been scammed by investgrup, goes by few names on skype but mego1111 is what he used for me. I was silly and stupid and over excited of the opportunity and let my guard down. He goes my names on pokerstars of goodprof invesstgrup andrupene

Contacted this player through the market place were he often sell action without any reported issue? We made a deal for a long term 5$-55$ mtt stacking of 1 month he managed to make some big score he sent me back the money I sent him and few days later he told me he bust the roll playing cash games plo 600 which wasn't in our deal. He told me he will pay me back but since few weeks he didn't give me any news and Im pretty sure at this point he doesn"t want to pay me what he owes anymore.... So be carefull dealing with this guy at anypoint.

I backed Mark Stobbs for 18-man turbo sngs. He got into ~8k in makeup, I was providing coaching etc. to help him get out of makeup. He started making some progress in reducing his makeup, then he informed me that he was just going to quit while in makeup and pursue other avenues of income. He did return the funds that he was holding onto. I would strongly discourage anyone from backing him in the future.

Hes not obligated to stay in poker till you get your money back you realise? As long as if he decides to return to poker he offers you his action first I think this post has no place here at all.

He said that he did not return the money left in his account. I would assume that would be the reason he posted.

Uhhhm, he said that he DID. Post has no place here indeed. Some backers seem to think they should be guaranteed a profit by whomever plays for them. Per story of backer himself this horse handled everything fine, just didn't win. Now backer is pissed off.

Can see both sides of the argument. OP is posting to ensure that horse doesn't decide in a couple of months to return to poker and to seek backing from someone else, not because the horse did anything wrong. Perhaps a different thread is needed for listing horses who quit whilst in makeup because you're correct that the horse shouldn't be named in this particular thread alongside scammers etc.

You cant 'tag' players who leave in mu to quit poker and lump them in a thread somewhere.

Quitting poker in MU is as fine as a backer dropping a horse. Do you think we should have a thread where horses can ****-talk backers for no reason other than theyre pissed off?

If he came back to poker and blanked the backer he has MU with, or started playing on the sly then sure post then, but doing it before is really really bad and shows a deep mis-understanding of what the backer/horse relationship is.

Edit: If anything, the backer deserves to be in this thread for slamming someone doing nothing wrong. Not the horse.

I removed the information in the post and the quotes. I can see what the backer is doing here but would tend to agree that "he lost money playing poker and quit playing poker" isn't exactly what this thread is about. If someone has a strong argument for returning the information you can PM me.
