got scammed by this guy through an online auction, can anybody provide any useful info that might help me out...? please PM or email. cheers!

you can PM me since im still dealing with the police on the matter of when he scammed me. I'm happy to pass all your info onto the police (in the uk) if you are from outside the uk im not sure how much help they can be.

You need to get more posts before I can PM you or vice versa. I passed all my info onto rje8686 and he has all the extra info from other people, so best to talk to him.

Yeah there's about zero chance I'd give anything to (or really even consider any info coming from) an unknown. Sorry Nzeetee, I think your best bet is to take it up with the auction site/Paypal.

Any progress otherwise? Court dates on the fraud charge, etc?

sorry yeah it didn't occur to me that with scammers out there like nick gaskin, you might be a bit cautious about who you email/talk to etc!

the reason i'm a 'noob' on here is 'cos i've specifically joined this 2+2 poker forum thing to ask for help - after suspecting gaskin was a scammer, i googled him and this discussion thread came up. i saw that other people on here had been scammed by him and sounded like they had info etc on him. otherwise, i'm generally not too sure what this site/forum is about other than poker, and i'm not on here for that or going to make posts about the game...

thanks for the pass-on anyway Inland Knight, i guess i'll try and liaise with you rje8686? oh, the other reason for my 'noob' status on here is that we were scammed on something completely seperate to poker - tickets to an australian new years music festival. so no we're not in the UK, but trying to pursue this punk in australia.

am planning to lodge complaints with police in the states of Victoria (the address he listed. is it his mum's??), Western Australia (where his BSB/bank account is) and NSW (where we are), as well as the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and state offices of Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs. not getting anywhere with the auction site's complaints process so far, but have only just begun proceedings i guess.

could really use people's help in "bringing this guy to justice" with any info they might have, and am happy to provide whatever info on him we have. not really sure how else to prove sincerity/authenticity. as it appears i'm unable to PM, is anyone willing to flick me an email to start sharing info?? or can someone propose other options??

As it's pretty common knowledge that he is travelling europe/living in England, i'll tell you that the police in Aus won't be able to do anything till he comes back.

we foolishly got scammed on gumtree + bidmate, where the buyer protections suck. naive, but whaddya do? i've got a screen shot of 'ngaskin' trying to sell the falls tix as well as NINE big day out tix now (google search results), not that i expect it to be of that much use. did you get scammed yourself inland knight?

Nah, I didn't get scammed, found the thread when it was going down and because I was from Aus I looked into it. Figured i'd know some area specific info that'd help. If you want to give me your email I can contact you from a different email than I use for this site(i'm careful with all poker related emails).

There are 1 or 2 updates but I cant post them here. Things are moving along with the police but these things unfortunately take time. Hopefully I will have better news to report in a few weeks.

Nick is now (more) famous.
He made it onto the Channel 9 news in Melbourne (highest rating news in the state of Victoria, Australia) on Monday 14th Dec.

I missed the first part of the story but heard his name and caught the last part. It was also about people getting scammed for summer concert tickets.
The last part of the report said that the person identified in England (Nick)had denied it was him and that someone was using his name.

Good luck catching up with this scum.

i heard about the channel 9 piece, it's annoying i can't find anything online about it. apparently people were calling up the 3AW radio show and complaining about ticket fraud too.
