IPUSHALLIN on Skype 00 Crypto Scam IPUSHALLIN on Skype 00 Crypto Scam

Just want to let you guys know someone by the showing name of IPUSHALLIN and Skype handle of Marc_addict on skype contacted me shortly after I posted that I needed BTC on here around November 14 and recently sent $1500 to my Wells Fargo as "Michael Gerson". I sent $1500 in XMR shortly after and a couple of days ago my bank account was put on hold due to "Michael Gerson" claiming that I had fraudulently charged him for the $1500. It was my fault that I dealt with someone I didn't know and didn't bother getting a vouch but honestly had no idea this could happen. I have attempted to contact him for the past couple of days with no response. I am also sending chat and transfer history to my bank but it looks like they'll be closing my account without "Michael Gersons" consent that he intended to send the funds. We had done previous trades before as well. If anybody has any information or has dealt with him please contact me and maybe we can stop this guy from doing this to others.

Cliff Notes:

IPUSHALLIN on Skype is a scammer.
Get vouches for both receiving and sending funds.
Get hard proof the contract and dealings.

They're terrible and I wouldn't recommend them. They're basically saying at this point even if I provide proof that they will still close my account and basically hold all my money for two weeks. Makes sense.

If you pay by debit card for something, you can request a refund for your payment from your bank. They then reverse the transaction.

There's a time limit on how long you can do it after the purchase though. Can't remember how long though. 90 days, I think.

Its good to have this here i think. Scammers get outted all the time in NVG and rightly so because it provides more awareness as more ppl are seeing this. You should leave this open and post another in hsnl

Did a little further investigation.

Seems as though this user plays Runescape/Hearthstone.

If you google "Marc_addict" you'll find multiple conversations on different forums discussing scams/trades involving this user. I'm at work so I can't dive to deep but that's what I found on the surface. I could probably DOX the user, but not sure how the site handles issues regarding DOXing and releasing full personal info (would take some time as well but I can get it done).

I'm sure you can also get it done by finding what account sent you funds.

It was a wire transfer from citibank.

You said you'd done transfers with this guy before.
It's unusual for scammers to have done legit transfers in the past, usually they never offer to send money first, but always ask you to send first, often by impersonating someone.
Are you sure that the account you did this trade with was the same account you did the previous trade with, and it's not a case of impersonation?

How many previous trades had you done and what did those look like?

What specifically is the bank saying to you? They're gonna close your account no matter the outcome of this, but what about the funds?

This doesn't look like a chargeback scam, it's a wire, which is not reversible, and it sounds like he's going the route of claiming fraud and hoping the bank sides with him. I don't really understand how that works though, if he sent you a wire, how can he claim fraud? Or is he claiming that you never sent the XMR?

I think I did one previous trade with him where he sent first. I’m sure it was the same guy. When I provided evidence the guy in the fraud department told me I have to show Citibank the evidence because they were the ones filing the claim and Citibank said the opposite then the guy said I signed an agreement stating they can close my account whenever they want. I have no idea what they’re accusing me of because nobody will really tell me how I’m committing fraud nor have any evidence. I’m done trying to solve the problem so they’re issuing me a cashiers check in a few weeks and I’m going somewhere else.

Just so there's no confusion for others, no, NVG is not the place to out scammers - this forum is (where this thread was moved to). Or the transfers thread if it's a trade/transfer scam. Posting in both is fine too.

The exception to scam threads in NVG is when it involves a well-known personality - those are often allowed to remain there, with the premise being that it's newsworthy.

At least he was upfront about being an addict. Good reminder that these can’t be trusted.
