so i have been playing for this stable for maybe 4 or 5 months now. originally it was going great, i was winning every week with a couple of really big weeks. we were profit chopping a lot. then i hit a downswing. i think we are still up in total maybe 16k or maybe 15k now but I am in maybe 6k to 8k make up as well.
Anyway, now my backer is asking for a 5k deposit. aside from the fact that I don't even have 5k, and the little money I do have is earmarked for frivolous expenses like food and rent, it seems to me like my backer is really trying to abuse me with this request, basically asking me to take all of the risk, do all the work, while they still get 50% profit.
I'm sensitive to the fact that I have accrued some makeup, and to be honest I was not always playing my A+ game during this downswing. I have offered to move down in limits (I am playing $160 buy in big bet right now and offering to move down as far as $10 games to grind the makeup back / develop a winning sample and move up to the next level) as well as alternative options like different forms of advantage gambling (live poker, card counting blackjack or blackjack team) to work the make up off, but they seem to want a massive deposit.
What do you think, is their request reasonable?
