Hey, please give me your oppinion:

Friend has a club on an app and wanted me to play there. Stakes weren't really defined well but its a 50/50 split MU deal. Played some plo200 and plo500 5 card and won a little.

I am primarily a live player, haven't played online in many years so I asked him if he wanted to stake me live as well for 5/5 and 10/10. He agreed but 5/5 would be main game, only shots on 10/10 etc. We didn't really discuss too much although I said I don't want to play lower than 5/5 because that I could afford myself.
Started playing, lost a bunch and lost the initial 12k roll on a mix of 5/5 10/10. he then wanted to ship more money but hasn't for three weeks and I couldn't play. he then wanted me to buy in for the minimum. That was never discussed either but I obliged. Kept loosing. Casinos in my City shut down due to regulation. We agreed I will fly to Vegas soon and keep playing there.
In the meantime I played on the app. Most games were short handed or I had to start games where players joined me that were clearly better than me at HU. I expressed my concerns and told him that I'm not sure if I even beat the games. Lost a lot more and he then wanted me to buy in for 100€ bullets which again we never discussed but I obliged again. MU at around 25k at that point.
I also had a huge upset in my private life which made my general mindset suffer a lot! I told him. He said he totally understands but kinda pressured me into playing more to lower the MU and low key called me a scammer if I didn't play more. So I kept playing on the app and kept losing. I also punted a couple stacks due to tilt. I also told him and expressed more concerns of me even beating the games atm. He wanted me to continue. Corona happened and live poker died. So only he app was left. We're at around 30k MU again and I can't win an ALL in for the live of me on that app! He then wanted me to buy in for 50€ bullets with an MU of 30k which again I found ridicilous and didn't reply to the message. Bought in for 50€, ran it up to 600€ and lost a 1200€ pot against a ridicilous turned set once more! I then bought in for 100€ the next hand (not really conciously.. I don't even remember doing it) and punted off the stack due to tilt! I 100% admit that! He saw that exact hand and told me to quit playing. I told him that I don't think I beat the games right now. He said okay. Deal is off and I owe him 31k now. Which I think is absolutely ludacris. I want to keep playing. I want to get out of the MU but in Games I know I beat. Games I have confidence in!
What do you think of this? Who's in the right here?

I urge you to invite your friend to come here and share his side of the story, but as you have described it you do not owe this guy anything. He has the right to continue to stake you, but not at anything lower than 5/5 or maybe 1/2, imo. Him asking for 30,000 is extremely shady, and I would cease any and all business dealings with this individual in the future.

I don't see why you had to continue playing when the guys who were better / as good as you / not total droolers joined to play you heads up.

stake is not a loan. lot of stakers dont understand that and want to freeroll their horses.
its an investment into the horse and sometimes you lose your money.
you cant play for anyone else but he must continue giveing you money if he wants to so you can play or end the deal and say goodbye for each other

From what I understand if he quits backing you and there is no hard copy of a contract stipulating the detail, he has to swallow it up. From his lack of du-diligence and not listening to you the horse, not much more to say on the topic.

Of course that is my opinion based on your side of the story. As mentioned above, it would be good to have the backers version of events.

Hm, seems like both of you didnt know what you got into when staking began.
Continuing to stake after the loss of the initial stake, without reviewing your play and asking you to drop in stakes seems super naive to me.
Waiting for you to drop to 30k in MU without taking any action or listening to you not feeling confident in playing these games is just stupid imo.
I mean, you keeping on playing the games you were not confident playing is another story.
Mistakes have been made on both sides imo, probably best to try to work it out somehow and you grinding it back in games and stakes you beat. Just leaving with 30k in MU is, personally, a bit of a dick move - unless he absolutely denies to keep on backing you. After all, its an investment, not a loan - and investments can screw you over, thats the risk. Staking is not freerolling for either side.
