Recently I started dealing with Adnan Mohammad over Instagram to get set up on a sports betting platform he was using. It allowed me to deposit without having to go through the process of buying and selling bitcoin which can take several days.

He set me up with an account and I deposited $200 (I'm by no means a big player when it comes to sports betting, it's just a hobby). The promise he set out was that payouts would be done over PayPal every Thursday for any amount I was up. Sounds good.






In the first week I broke even, so wasn't expecting a cash out and continued to play. The following week I did pretty well and ended up winning $87 combined. Come that Thursday, the $87 was "withdrawn"... but never deposited.

So I messaged Adnan figuring it was a simple mistake and he'd be able to help out.

48 hours go by. No response.

I message again. 48 hours. No response.



At this point I'm pissed, and I'm pretty sure this dude and "his buddy" just scammed me for $200. Even if they didn't and he's got a good excuse for dodging me (highly unlikely), AVOID THIS GUY. The fact that I've got cash in the air is kinda pissing me off right now. Of course it's money I can afford to lose or I wouldn't be sports betting with it in the first place... but I haven't lost it, right now it's been basically stolen from me.

Yup you got scammed. Scammers gonna scam. Good on you for outing the guy to help prevent others from falling for his scummy ways.

Adnan Mohammad is a scammer and a theif.

If you sent via PayPal and didn't send it as a "Friend" you can open a claim with PayPal.

Unfortunately, from the T&S:

"PayPal prohibits transactions for gambling activities by merchants and account holders in the U.S."

So a claim would be moot.

Possibly a reason why they would settle with OP. PayPal doesn't lose money. The money would be removed from Adnan and returned to OP.

I would suggest trying it. You essentially have nothing to lose.

FWIW, Global Poker uses PayPal for their payouts as well.

this should be under BBV in the brag sections. If the amount of money I got scammed for was 200$ I'd consider myself lucky.

The guy comes across as a douche on Instagram, but I find this very hard to believe. He gambles quite high, and doubt he would risk his reputation (among other things) over $200.

If you inform them that you made a gambling transaction, they will instaban your account. No use in reporting it.

while this looks pretty shady overall and you have all the right to be pissed about the situation i think posting a thread about it after one week for the amount of $287 with all of the guys info in the title is a bit too much. dont get me wrong im not defending him in the slightest bit but id give him the benefit of doubt at least a little longer. obv theres no rule to post after x amount of days after not getting z amount of money that the guy owes. however posting his info on a public forum without a single warning is a bit too much. glgl op getting your $$ back.

I guess, but the evidence is all there in the OP. That looks pretty damning.

UPDATE: Got a hold of him via email. After some deliberation he gave my account a look and said I would be paid the full amount ($200 + 87)

4 days and I still haven't seen the money though.

If you couldnt figure out that his imaginery friends platform was a scam then you deserve to lose the $287. This guys poker career has been funded by scamming, he cant beat the games. He scammed someone else out of 3500 doing the same paypal bet rig. He will get his ass kicked soon.

To the first bit, I don't think anyone ever deserves to be scammed.

He personally sent me $87 via PayPal last night, but still nothing concerning the $200 original deposit. We'll see how getting the rest back goes.

EDIT: He's also got to be a somewhat decent player. He took 2nd at a PH event this summer, Final Tabled at Borgata last year, and has a Top 20 WPT finish. He may not be top tier, but he's got decent results. Not praising the guy but he can't be too bad a player.

That is true but if you do a lil research on this cat i mean he is a documented cheat. He refused to play me heads up, i'm just telling you from what i hear from people that have play in his games. Pls with the tourney results, i have great tourney results all from when i sucked at poker. When I saw his IG bets i knew it was bogus and to scam people. Did you not see what he did after Trump won the election with all those posts and bets. Guy is a instagram gambler.

Another 72 hours passed, so I emailed Adnan again about the $200 he still owes me.

even before this post i can tell you this guy is a POS

100% he is a scammer. Numerous people I know in the New York area are owed money by him and have had all sorts of issues being paid.
