Is this the worst played hand ever? Is this the worst played hand ever?

Low stakes, $70 local MTT. About 80 runners, maybe 50 left. I just got moved to a new table. I am on the button with about 17k. Blinds 200/400.

UTG (old man, looks passive) LIMPS
UTG+2 (young kid, has played all 3 hands since I sat down. Won 1 at showdown, folded other 2 on flop and turn) LIMPS
CO - LIMPS
HIJACK - LIMPS
Me w/ Q10 diamonds -- I raise to 1800

The UTG old man and UTG+2 kid calls. Other two limpers fold.

Flop - 853 w/ 2 clubs. They both check. I feel like I should c-bet, but against two opponents one of them could easily have a pair. So I check.

Turn offsuit A. Old man checks, kid bets out 2000 into 5400 pot. Seems weak to me. I don't expect him to have an Ace very often if at all given the preflop action. I guess a set is possible but wouldn't he bet more to protect against the straights and flushes, and also to extract value from me? AK-A10 are all well within my range. So this is my biggest mistake I think -- I just call the 2000. I should have raised him and taken it down there. But I just call. Old man folds.

River offsuit K. Straight misses, flush misses, and I don't think a King is likely either. Kid thinks for quite a while and bets 7,500 into 9,400 pot. More than half my stack, and almost all of his. I'm trying to put him on some kind of range, and all I can come up with is he was drawing and missed. I don't block any of his draws. It's possible he has an 8 or 5 and is turning that into a bluff, but isn't he better off just checking and calling? Pocket 3s and pocket 6s are possible as well, but it's the same thing. Why bet into an A and K when I clearly have the range advantage?

Anyway, for whatever reason I hem and haw forever and finally decide to just throw in the chips, knowing I'm going to look horrendously stupid if I am wrong, but expecting to see something like T9 clubs. I call, he shakes his head in disgust and turns over.....QJ clubs. LIterally the only hand in his bluffing range that actually beats me. I say nice hand and show that I called with Q high, and everyone is like WTF. The kid literally laughs at me for like 2 minutes and then goes off and talks with his friend for a while too. They have a grand old time.

The question is, is my call really that bad? I feel like I thought it through pretty well and was right and wrong at the same time. Even 24 hours later I feel like an idiot for calling, but should I feel so terrible? Or is this a situation where even if I am 99% sure he doesn't have anything I should just fold anyway?

Poker is dead. Everyone is solid.

I'm going to be as nice as possible and say this is extremely bad. If you make calls by convincing yourself of hands you beat then you are the textbook definition of a bad player.

Yes but these are not calls I normally make...like ever, and I have been playing poker a long time. Also I didn't call because I "convinced myself" there were hands I beat. There actually were a lot of hands I beat, and I put him on a pretty accurate range of hands (QJ, JT, T9, T7, many other flush draws), and weighted his range heavily towards bluffs given how the hand played out. My question is are there scenarios where you should just never call, no matter what? Isn't bluff catching all about relative hand strength?

You lose to every Ax of clubs, every Kx of clubs and any pair. That's alot more hands that you lose to than beat especially since you only have Q high

I like the turn call with a plan to bluff later (assuming you're married to this idea of bluffing). You rep Ax credibly and you get more info before your next decision.

Then he gave you more info so you should have folded.

Bad but don't feel terrible, you had fun and got a cool story out of it. Players at the top table of world poker have been known to call with jack high so not the worst.

Biggest lesson here is to go all in and level him into folding with 5% of his stack behind. Calling is not like a half-bluff, pull the trigger or put your willy away.

I'm not gonna say anything about the hand because I've seen worse calls than this.
99% of poker players are losing money. If this kid laughs at you dont take personally, odds are he is a losing player (for sure ) and his friend too and more than half of the table too.
Learn from your mistakes

If u can't beat a bluff dont make hero calls

Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I was wondering yesterday, why there is no site where one can post the worst plays one has ever seen. (Or is there?)
Would be quite amusing, I think. What I have seen this week is beyond belief. Probalbly people that play poker only for xmas.
A good name for the site would be isthistheworsthandyouhaveeverseen.com

Actual hand: Not the worst call with your quite good read and his aggression level, but still you should stick to having a "real" bluffcatcher, i.e. one that at least beats a 5, as he might also bluff with any 5 and especially 65, 54 and 43.
There will be better spots to come if he keeps playing like this.

As the site isthistheworsthandyouhaveeverseen.com still does not exist, I might as well try and post my favorite here.

4 way single raised pot. Still pretty deep. Flop 862 rainbow. UTG has 66 and bets big. Our Hero has 43o for the butt-gutshot and calls. Short-stack with K9o decides to call it off as well. Button has 88 and jams for about potsized. 66 call and it is on our Hero1 who wastes no time putting in the chips, as he has them both covered.
Runout obviously 7 and 5, so the Shorty survives and the Hero scoops the side pot taking out the set-over-set guys.
