I was playing in a 50 euro local live event yesterday and encountered these two hands I would like to get other opinions about:

Hand 1: Early in the tournament, blinds 50/100, hero stack 16k is about average. Hero KJs in CO seat. Player in MP+1 raises 300, gets a call from MP, HJ, I call in CO, btn and BB also call, 6-players see the flop. Flop JdTdx. 3 checks to HJ who bets about 1100. Whats the best move? Raise to eliminate draw chasers or just call because we can easily be behind already?

Hand 2: Late in the tournament with 4 minutes till the end of the first day. Blinds 800/1600, ante 200. Hero stack 40k. I find AsJd utg and raise to 3500. Call from HJ and BB. Flop AdQd4c. Hero bets 5k, gets a call from HJ. Turn 7d. Hero bets 10k, HJ raises AI and has Hero covered. Call?

In hand one you should just go all in preflop for 16bb. KJs has good equity vs the MP+1 opening range and the MP and HJ players are basically just dead money in the pot.

Hand 2: Since you have more than half your stack in the middle yes you probably have to call

It is 160bb deep in hand 1 so AI is not an option.

I figured as much. I am getting 1 to 3 for the call and have a flush draw with J of diamonds so I am completely dead only if he already has a flush headed by Kd. Against smaller flushes I have 7 outs, against small sets 9 outs, against two pairs 14 outs. So i am getting some equity in case i am behind as well.

Lol sorry misread the first hand, I thought the blinds were 500 1k. If we are 160 bb deep then I don't mind the call preflop. AP we should just call the flop, raising will probably strengthen our opponents range too much.

Thanks for the input. In real life I raised to 3k in first hand to get rid of the draws and also to find out where i stand. villain re-raised to 7k and i folded.

In second hand I made the call, villain had 9d8d for a made flush. Fourth diamond did not hit and I was busted. Made to the final next day from flight 1B, so all ended well.
