Two all-ins already. KJo. Call or fold? Two all-ins already. KJo. Call or fold?

Dear 2+2 Community

Recently, I played a $30k GTD event. A two day event. I don't get to play these all year because the Day 2 falls on the same day (Saturday) as I work during the year. I'm on my annual leave now, so I decided to play. Took across 130k to Day 2.

I was insanely card dead for the most of it. Barely managed to keep my stack intact by stealing blinds and bluff 3-bet shoving two LAG maniacs who were raising almost every hand.

But, being so card dead and having nothing but stealing and bluff shove to maintain my stack, I felt I was always on the back foot as other stacks quickly gained sizes as players around me busted in typical AA vs KK, set over set, KK vs QQ situations.

About 3 hours into Day 2, I managed to miraculously increase my stack to about 150k. Then, I was dealt KJo in Hijack position. The best hand I've seen in a long time.

A LAG maniac, as expected, raised UTG. MP1 shoved for 40k. MP3 shoved for 60k.

I had 150k behind. I thought about it for a long time. I was 100% sure at least one of them was holding AK at the very least, in which case, has me totally dominated. Plus, I had 4 people to act behind me + the initial LAG raiser. I know he is raising very light, but, that doesn't mean he couldn't have a hand this time.

I folded my KJ after tanking. Two players who went all in had AQ and AK. I would've ended up winning as the board was all low cards and a lone J. (Blinds were 4000/8000k at the time)

I know it's a fold there with KJ almost 100% of the time. But, it was only later that I began to think, maybe it was worth a shot?

I punched the cards into the calculator. AK vs AQ vs KJ is about 50% vs 25 vs 20. Clearly, I'm dominated. But, given the stack sizes, was it worth the punt? (I know I wouldn't been in a seriously bad spot if 4 to act after me also called/shoved over the top.)

I was risking a third of my stack (50k) to gain two thirds of my stack (90k + blinds + initial LAG's raise). Had I taken the punt, I would've increased my stack to over 250k and would've had some breathing room to be able to call more raises and make decisions post-flop, instead of being the short stack waiting for hands to be able to shove with.

I eventually ended up pushing with AJ suited when blinds got to 12,000/24,000 with 120k behind. Got called with 88s and busted.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on that KJ hand...? Given the card deadness and risk reward ratio, was it worth the gamble? Or was it just a right fold at the wrong time?

Card deadness has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
