I've decided to review hands I got busted with this year in MTTs and STTs, and I've digged up a lot of corpses ! I've already spotted a lot of obvious mistakes, but I'm unsure about this hand.
Well I'm sure I played this hand terribly, especially on the river, so that's one thing. With more careful analysis, here is how I think I should have played, and I'd love to have your feedback :
- PRF : check is fine
- FLOP : Could leading be an option here ? I don't like to build a pot with this kind of draw OOP, so I'd say no, but I'm open to suggestions. Check raise would probably not make V fold either here, so same conclusion.
- TURN : Here, I think that if V has a set or a straight, V will want some value, so I'm ok with checking and see what he does. But when V bets so small, I think I should raise to get value from the heavy draws V represents.
- RIVER : Hits V range hard, so I guess check call ?
Thanks in advance !

I think I would either lead flop for 10k-ish and be willing to get all in or I would check-raise the flop. If I bet 10k and he called, I would plan on triple barreling a lot of run outs.
As played, when villain min bets flop on this board texture, esp. in a limped pot pre, he almost never has any nutted hands. This bet looks like a weak made hand, a draw, or a cheap stab, so I would check-raise and start to put pressure.
If I got to the river like this, I'm always leading big. The flush and 4 straight got there, so he now has a lot of check backs. He's never folding a lower flush, Jx, and probably not 2 pair to a bigger bet, but he might check back 2pair or even Jx.
Thank you very much for these insights guys. I agree that I played to passively, and that I should put much more pressure on V. Your perspective is very enlightening.
