Felt a bit lost in this hand given how wide villain's range could be here. Only had a dozen hands or so on him.

Preflop 3-bet was a semi-bluff with a hand that doesn't play well OOP but can flop decently.

I think flop is pretty standard. On the turn I wavered between barreling with the added equity or retaining my showdown value and hiding the strength of my hand if the river is favorable.

On the river when I miss the OESD I figure I still have decent showdown value but I'm worried if I check, he'll just blow me off the pot with a big river bet. With that board it's a perfect spot for him to do that. So I opt for a blocker bet to prevent that from happening.

Thoughts?

Your hand plays well as a x/c otf

As played I'm not sure what the best line to take ott is

I'm torn between just flatting pre or raising like you did, I can see merits for both, but I think I like flatting a bit more as we're H/U with a decent hand vs a BTN limp.

I think I prefer x/c OTF as well, but as played I think it's fine to check back turn. We want to get to SD as cheap as possible so the blocker bet makes sense as well, although we can make the blocker bet a bit smaller.

Not totally in love with the river bet. I understand the purpose, but not a huge fan. A straight will still call, better Jx will probably call. Basically, anything that calls will probably beat you. You only fold out the air that you want to pick off with your bluff catcher. I would check river and call about as much as you bet. Betting 12BB on the river just seems -EV to calling 12BB on river or folding to bigger.

Just my 2c...

Check pre, jam the river as played. You block like all the straights and block some full houses as well.

check pre we don't want to build a pot when we are oop.

Turn i think is a x/c and river x/evaluate when he can have every 8x possible combo and we pretty much have none. I dont expect people to bluff often on the river here on such a scary board, so a polar bet otr from v is going to be value weighted i think
