Villain is unknown, BTN has a mid sized bounty. Do you call here? Would checking the flop play better?

- 8000/16000 NL (8 max) - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 13.01 BB
UTG: 4.45 BB
Hero (UTG+1): 31.96 BB
MP: 35.83 BB
CO: 13.49 BB
BTN: 3.07 BB
SB: 6.17 BB

7 players post ante of 0.13 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.37 BB) Hero has K 8

fold, Hero raises to 2 BB, MP calls 2 BB, fold, BTN raises to 2.95 BB and is all-in, fold, fold, Hero calls 0.95 BB, MP calls 0.95 BB

Flop: (11.22 BB, 3 players) 8 6 7
Hero bets 4.49 BB, MP raises to 32.76 BB and is all-in, Hero???

Why are you playing K8s from EP?

I wonder as well if we should be betting this flop.
We want some protection and we should bet big to get some.
But it's also a very scary flop for us OOP.

Hmm the GTO charts from pokercoaching.com actually have K6s for 40bb and K5s for 25bb so I guess it's fine.

there is a big power drop off from K9s to K8s due to it's inability to make a straight. So I still wouldn't open from the HJ. But I guess it depends on what charts you're looking at.

Especially for players below mid stakes (~$50bi) I think it's in your benefit to play a conservative PF strategy until you can play these ranges with a little more confidence. And then you can expand your ranges as you get a better feel for how to play them.

Start asking yourself the reasons behind your flop cbet and work from there.
There is no incentive to bet this flop at all.

As played, fold flop and take some notes.
The preflop raise is "meh", not good or bad. Depends on the dynamics of the table and your image.

I think we have to call. He has a lot of draws and we have no blockers too them. Sometimes he'll have sets but what can you do.

K8s is an open from LJ/UTG6

Fold flop. What would you hope to see them turn over if you call? Even the airest of air is going to have decent equity against a pair of 8's with no re-draw.
