no reads on v

against a UTG open i decided to just flat call with AQ. V leads OTT , in this spot i literally have no idea why i called in which i should be shoving.

what does v range look like here when they bet turn? we get to the river and v shoves i went into tank and was just super confused lol

this was probably the most confusing hand ive played since a long time lol. I was like so unsure what v range looks like otr? i mean on the flop there range looks super weak since they should be betting their monster range like JJ/TT.

i could easily have clubs in my range when i call the turn and if thats the case what are they shoving otr? it seems as if they are now representing a flush, though if that was the case they would probably bet those on the flop. So yeah super confused right now, thoughts please?

interesting hand.. I would lean towards a fold here especially against an unkown, especially since you didn't really invest that many chips in the pot and his bet is an overbet and you would be looking him with just a pair when there are a lot of two pairs and flushes and other things that have you way beat. It's one of those spots where you can easily fold, take note and then play accordingly in the future

I'd bet the flop but as played I'd fold. He just rarely has any bluffs and that's all you beat

I think it's interesting, and yet not, fold turn.

Flop checked through so there was no turn lead? Very tough spot but given the river and sizing I think fold is fine. With reads I'm down to call, but as played seems good. I'd just jam pre, as you said.

20 BB with AQ OTB, ship it PF. As played even though your hand is underrepped I’d still fold riv, bad run out

You see that we turn top pair and have a gutshot to the nuts right after checking flop through?

Well I'd just 3bet jam pre with sub 20 blinds and AQo and I'm certainly not folding the river when I block both straights and near the top of my range so short stacked and under repped.

Pre actually fine , when we jam this vs utg we just fold out maybe like 66 77 88, kq qj ,aj , suited ax , and get called by 99+ AQ+, basically iso ourselves against the range that crushes us and fold out the bits we dominate.

Flop turn good, flop we can bet to fold out underpairs but can delay bet to get them out anyway so rather check.

River puke, think I fold as hard to find bluffs

Folding out 66-88 is great for us tho.

That range doesn't "crush us" at all tho, in fact we're 3:2 against it. I think having them fold AJs is a bit tight since if they're calling AQs then they're folding AQo or atleast most the combos and that seems really tight for a call range.

Shove chart says UTG+1 (cause 8 handed), with 12.5% ante can call profitably (if both use shove chart (your range to rejam is AQo/KJs/77+/AJs+ that's with the bottom trimmed off anyways that are near breakeven). So villain's range to call that is AJo/88+ (77 is over a chip in ev but w/e)/KQs/AJs. We can call AJo at a lower frequency as villain. Below we can see an even tighter range than the charts gave villain and we're doing fine against it plus folding out a bunch of stuff anyways like all those pairs.

so assuming v is calling with that range its profitable to shove AQ pre in this spot?

as for the hand i folded river anyhow and I agree to some extent that my hand is undereped, tricky spot indeed :P

Yeah, shove chart says you can jam it but have to realize people may open a bit tighter UTG than the charts say but it's still fine.
