50 is fine I think, 100 is plenty and probably overkill, it's pretty hard to not be significantly +EV in these.

I'd still say 100 is ideal for these. They only pay top 10% and the amount of terrible play increases variance. WHile not an exact figure, looking at my graph for these, I have dropped ~75 buyins on my worst downswing (involving a whole bunch of bubbling and mincashing).

Much better to invest up to 2% of your roll on any MTT and adjust as you go

cute but i think a lot of the advice in that doesn't apply well to turbo 180s.

Well the only real difference is that turbo 180s degenerate into a cEV pushbotting fest a little sooner. And once you get to the FT you will have a little more variance because you will be forced to play a lot more, rather than wait for a couple of donks to hang themselves.

My advice would be to use http://www.holdemresources.net/hr/sn...alculator.html with "Structure" set to 1, to get a feel for (close to) optimal shoving ranges at short stacked MTT play when it isn't the FT, and then just use SnGWiz to analyse some real HH, switching to $EV from cEV once you hit the FT.

Otherwise, the early parts plays just like the regular, except that playing really nitty in the first two levels won't hurt your win rate as much.

when I first joined this forum about 2 years ago...
a friend suggested that I read this in the Anthology.
I did and cashed in the first $20/180 I played.

to this day, 180's are, by far, the best and most profitable games I play.
And this post is still the foundation of my 180 strategy.

Thanks for Bumping this...I read it again about 6 months ago, but I need to re-read it and keep re-reading it until I know it by heart.

Hmmmm, I wonder if Shaun would want to take another look at it and see if it needs to be updated (in his opinion) in any way, for the direction poker is evolving.

It's crazy to see how well guys like shaun do, I mean we ALL have brains, this game can't be THAT complex, that we can't evolve into players like him where we have such a grasp on the game we're crushing it like he does. Right? one can hope at least lol.

Is there a similar article by SFD or anyone else purely pertaining to MTTs?
