11 abi 180's + micro/midstake red tourneys. 180's just have a better hourly then your average crap tourney to be honest.

just from my personal experience when i mix sngs and mtts i usually only play the 3.5rebuy 180s because i find they play slightly more like a mtt. also on stars theres a alot of tournaments that have a great structure especially the 1R1A and 2R1A.. think there is a $22 1R1A.. and a $33. These are awesome to mix in with there big 109 big 55 and the like cause you start of with 6k or in some cases when there is 2R1A you start with 9k, great structures!

GL!!

I like you oldskool87. Those MTTs with the 1r1a, 2r,1a etc are great and lovely deepstack and decent structure to reduce variance.

Thx SJL, those tournaments are my favourite by far, plenty of time to play deep stacked.

just interested to know from someone that plays a lot of 180's what kind of regular swings you can expect to take. ive recently started playing them after switching from the hyper turbos which bore the hell out of me. in 4 days playing$8 and $15 games I have won £700 on the first two days and just lost £280 on the 3rd and 4th day. these seem like big swings. like to hear from someone who knows what there talking bout.

your results are not big swings at all.

you lost like 25-30 tournaments i think? even 40 would not be big swings, you can reach even 100 BI downswing

Swings depend on the volume you put in, if you play every day and multi-table like 8-10 of them at once and you have an edge then swings shouldn't be that much of a problem in the long run but obviously you'll have bad days but if you have an edge and you're a winning player then the swings won't be that bad. You need a deep roll to play these tournaments though.

I think I watched that rollercoaster's route at least 10 times right now.

180s are swingy, 280$ downswing isn't a lot.

Biggest one I've had so far was when I was playing 2.5's still. went up about 250 buyins, then over the span of 300 games I lost almost the entire 250 buyins. It totally crushed my confidence but during the next 300-400 games I made it all back and more. So in short really really big lol..

Nice pic gildo, it says it all

If you play these for long enough, you're going to have a 300bi downswing at some point. Brace yourself or bail now.

About 300 BI for 3r (~3000$), 400BI for the other 180man sng.

I've actually been on that ride and if the swings are anything like that I need some serious mental preparation. ok so what kind of bankroll do you need to play these games? I was thinking that 200 would be plenty but now I'm not so sure. if your a pro grinding these games what do you need?

I have one of the top ROIs, but still 2 over 200 buyin downswings in under 4k games this year.

so I guess my 230BI bankroll's not gonna cut it then.

It depends on how good of a player you are. If you're an average player, it will be harder for you to keep the downswings in check. If you're just starting to play 180 mans, you might want a bigger bankroll. I would recommend 250-300 buy ins if you have an average buy in of $10 or less.

I always cashout at the end of the month and leave ~150bi on my account. Somehow I was only once close to bust in the last two years, but maybe I'm an exception...?

When someone in the other thread said that you need about 3k roll for $3r I was like "wow".
(i play $2.5 180man, starting each month with ~$350)

Besides being a good player it also depends on your volume: if you play 20-30tables you're more likely to hit big swings. Playing less tables = lower roll you need to be safe.
