Having the heart blocker makes checking flop better (he has less fd in his range to get value from). That makes our value targets for cb fairly thin only 6x really and some middle pp's

During the hand I discounted checking as the worst option but I suppose there aren't that many bad turns for us(hearts and A) and it keeps V's range wide.

Only ace and some of those combos jam pre w his stack. Heart is not so bad for us, as mentioned we have heart blocker so from a combinatorics point of view this actually cuts down his heart fd combos he can have, also not to mention we pick up a bunch of additional equity on heart turn.

This is more of a question of which line serves our range best overall, generally we want to keep some strong hands in our check back range so when we do indeed check back we are not always at the bottom of our range. Not to mention we never get x3 streets here being this far up in our range, but we may get 1 - 2 streets so checking flop with the intention to barrel most turns is usually fine
