I have this bad habit that I'm trying to break: I tend to snap call all in's when I have a flush draw. I don't use my time bank to ponder the villain's possible hand or think about how I only have about a 35% chance to hit the flush with both streets. My mouse is clicking 'call' before I've even had a chance to think. Its a reaction, a serious flaw in my game.

What do you do when you are called all in for your tournament life to ensure you give the situation proper consideration?

1) Put a sticky note on your computer with something that will remind you to slow down and think

2) Go through your database and analyze all the hands where you called with a flush draw. Seeing how many chips you've lost doing this might be eye opening.

Take your hand off the mouse.

It's like "Guys I know that headbutting a wall is not good for my health but I can't help myself." Just don't do that. Maybe you actually should make something to yourself physically after those snap calls as a signal to your subconscious that this behavior is not welcomed. Or maybe try to scold yourself. I believe it might work.

Try recording some of your sessions, preferably talking about your thinking process. You will automatically be more thoughtful and you may refrain from donking away your stack like this.
