Is mistake to play more tight when you get deep ? Tell for example if you get last 100 plrs from 3k-4k field and you have 50-60bbs , you should open widly ? I might sound like fish but i m just 18 and i ve been playing poker just like 4 months ...
If you are deep in a tourney and have a big stack, you want to apply pressure to the Mid sized Stacks who don't want to risk becoming a shorty themselves! So yes try opening wider . Open and put pressure on the shorter stacks, if you get shoved on by a stack and you dont feel its worthy of a call, just fold. in later stages open/fold and even 3bet/fold need to be lines you take and a regular part of your game a good example is:
you are UTG and have table chip lead. and you are dealt K10o
raise fold is defintely a line you can take with this holding.
1 or 2 things are going to happening at this late stage.
1 ) you win the blinds and antes and increase your stack by a few precious BBs
2 ) you get shoved on by a shorty and you cant warrant the call. and all you probably lost was 2.2BB (if you are opening any more than this it will be un profitable over time)
hope that gives you a better idea of table, stack and late game dynamics.
