Smile Preflop spot early stages with AQs

Early stages of 5.50 stadium series on pokerstars 10k+ entries, villain unknown.

With 34 BB vs. a 4x open from EP I was very unsure of this spot. I thought that 3 betting small didn't make much sense because I would either have to call it all off or fold any flop without an A Q or draw facing any aggression from the big stack.

Thinking back now I could have considered a flat but given my reasoning above I decided to go for the jam. What would be considered the correct play in this spot? Thanks for the help.

PokerStars - 500/1000 Ante 125 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP: 90.86 BB
MP+1: 52.57 BB
MP+2: 53.7 BB
CO: 40.55 BB
BTN: 39.21 BB
Hero (SB): 34.56 BB
BB: 51.32 BB
UTG: 56.16 BB
UTG+1: 24.5 BB

9 players post ante of 0.13 BB, Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.62 BB) Hero has A Q

fold, fold, MP raises to 4 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 34.43 BB and is all-in, fold, MP calls 30.43 BB

Re: Preflop spot early stages with AQs

If he only calls you with (JJ+, AK) you have 32% equity when called. We then breakeven if V folds about 64% of the time. Which means he needs to open 83 (calculation below) combo's which looks like the following range: (88+, AJT, KTs, QJs).

(JJ+, AK) = 30 combo's with blockers. We need 64% folds thus => x/(30+x)=0.64 => 0.36x = 19.2 => x = 53 combo's and 30 + 53 = 83. 83/1326 =~ 6.4% RFI from this position to make this a break-even shove.

Re: Preflop spot early stages with AQs

Seems like a hail mary shove if its unlikely he calls w worse (AJ,KQ) I usually flat and try to get more info post before deciding how to proceed on further streets, ie: we can float most flops and x/decide turn, if he 2 barrels we usually we have an easy play depending how high up in our range we are
