Blinds are 40/80 w/ an $8 Ante
Hero(125BB)
Villian(125BB)

I look down at A

on the button 3Bet to (240).
SB Folds, BB calls.
Flop comes Q

SB checks, I Check
Turn Comes Q

I donk bet (165) villian raises to (560) I call.
River comes 8

I bet pot. Villian re raises me to put me all in. I call he turns over 6

.
Did I play this hand wrong? Advice anyone on bet sizing etc?

No you don't and if he bet the flop, it hardly would've been any different.

He needs to have very strong hands in his check back range and AJs is pretty much just that as it has around 40% worst case scenario (v sets+2 pairs), v the majority of opponent's range, it likely has 85%.

First 3bet you mean 3x bet.
3bet is when you raise another openers bet.

The hand is at played imo. People play like crazy these KOs so doing this with AQ QK etc.etc. its not something i am not waiting to see here.
