I feel I played this hand very weak-passively and it really didn't sit well with me but at the same time I just instinctively felt like vill had me trapped. Would love some feedback on the way I played it and alternative line ideas.

I think it's fine.

I think its fine also - there is a decision on the turn - maybe we can fold if V is very straightforward but no way we can call river without a strong read

What would you expect to be the 3-betting range of the villain?

I like how you played it. Fold seems fine, but with reads I can get behind call. Regardless we have plenty of better hands to call

I play it the same.

Villain's range should be pretty strong 3-betting out of the BB there and he won't have hands like AK/AQ (non-diamond) or lower pairs often enough to call that river.
