Hello,

This is the first hand i post on the forum. It's a hand i played in the $5.5 Daily Marathon, Im interested to see what you guys think.

The villain in MP+1 has been getting involved in most hands he played but it's only a small sample (7 hands)

PokerStars - 200/400 Ante 40 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP: 74.58 BB (VPIP: 6.25, PFR: 6.45, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 32)
MP+1: 62.5 BB (VPIP: 85.71, PFR: 28.57, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 7)
CO: 86.93 BB (VPIP: 18.75, PFR: 12.50, 3Bet Preflop: 5.88, Hands: 32)
BTN: 43.63 BB (VPIP: 21.88, PFR: 9.68, 3Bet Preflop: 13.33, Hands: 32)
SB: 286.57 BB (VPIP: 34.38, PFR: 21.88, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 32)
BB: 46.57 BB (VPIP: 7.50, PFR: 7.50, 3Bet Preflop: 11.76, Hands: 41)
Hero (UTG): 35.76 BB
UTG+1: 27.14 BB (VPIP: 18.18, PFR: 9.09, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 11)

8 players post ante of 0.1 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.3 BB) Hero has T T

Hero raises to 2.75 BB, fold, fold, MP+1 calls 2.75 BB, fold, fold, SB calls 2.25 BB, fold

Flop: (10.05 BB, 3 players) 4 K K
SB checks, Hero checks, MP+1 checks

Turn: (10.05 BB, 3 players) 9
SB checks, Hero bets 7 BB, MP+1 calls 7 BB, fold

River: (24.05 BB, 2 players) 7
Hero bets 8 BB, MP+1 raises to 16 BB, fold

Hero mucks T T (Two Pair, Kings and Tens)

MP+1 wins 40.05 BB

I probably could have c-bet the flop and fold to a raise.

Im not sure why the villain in MP+1 would check a K on the flop with a potential flush draw?

Any thoughts or criticism are welcome.

Raise less pre, turn is a tad too much also. Should just c/c river not bet forcing you to fold showdown equity. Is river supposed to be for value?

Yeah, river bet was out of place, check would have been better.
My bet was with the intention of getting called by a pair of 9's, but check would have been way better.
Thanks for the response.

You have to think why you bet and what's hands are probably calling before to bet. With that said, betting so big on the turn will get calls from the stronger parts of villain's range.
I would 1/2 and check/call river. You don't want to be forced to fold your equity. 5bb turn and probably calling a 10bb river bet it the same amount that you invest as played.
And you will see villain's card with this line.

We wanna play our range so it's optimized vs what we suspect they have. So if we bet hoping they call a few combos while beating us with many others it isn't great. Rather we can just check, let them bluff sometimes, bet sometimes with better and sometimes bet with worse. Just when you're new think of whether am I value better or am I bluffing here.
