Playing against unprofitable players who are overly aggressive Playing against unprofitable players who are overly aggressive

In 20-30bb eff games, what is the best way to deal with players who play huge (unprofitable) ranges? We're talking vpip of ~50 and a small FCB stat. Any time you check to these players, they'll bet any 2, typically multiple streets. These players theoretically should be really easy to play against, but I'm struggling against the aggression.

I've tried adding some stronger hands to my x/c range, but I'm pretty sure I get significantly more value from betting them. It's frustrating to x/f so much, but should we just let them have all the small pots when we don't hit the board? Are we forced to call multiple large bets in some marginal spots?

For example:

9max mtt, mid-late stages
Hero (CO) KT 25bb
BTN 15bb

Hero raises to 2bb
BTN calls 2bb
SB folds
BB calls 1bb

Flop 5.5bb: T 26
BB checks
Hero ?

I know this is a little different because it's multiway, but I've been consistently facing two less-than-ideal spots from both checking and betting in this type of scenario:

If we bet and either villain calls, we'll often have to check the turn and will almost always face aggression. Villain will typically bet his entire range here, even marginal pairs.

If we check, we allow villain to bluff the flop. Sometimes, however, villain will check and this is potentially not very good multiway. If the T brings a bad card, again, we'll be guessing a lot where we are in the hand.

So BTN is the maniac here? I don't really see what the problem is- it's a nice spot where we can feel happy playing for his stack. We can either check/ station him down or cbet expecting a call and then check the turn with the intention of calling any bets. Generally I prefer this line as it makes it more likely that we will get hu to the turn.

Basically we should be playing for value and not folding decent hands to aggression.
