I like to use a 3x open when deep stacked, I think that's standard.

If you're opening from the CO; 100bb effective with SB and BTN and 20bb effective with BB - what's the best open sizing there and why?

2.23bb, cause if you open 2.24 then you're committed to any jams and if you open 2.22 then they'll know you made a silly thread on 2p2

I read it multiple times and still can't get the joke...also I open 2.22 all the time..it just seems so nice - if BB=50, open=111, BB=100, open = 222, etc..

Maybe a 2x open with 30 bb effective and 3x 20 bb effective. I wouldn't worry about it before the stack size gets between 10 and 20 (Hellmuth might go for 3x even there, getting more folds). Around 1 bb here or there, who cares? You probably get more dubious calls when you mini-open.

It is not only the effective stacks that are the factors, but what is one's stack size non-effective, other players overall. One can adjust one's range when facing more 3-bets.

Playing heads up s&gs might help some, as I have been hammering with all kinds of open sizes when I am the chip leader and I haven't been a bit worried.
