Tournament Description

Just past the bubble in a $20 tournament, 6-handed without a small blind for this hand

Bovada 4000/8000/400 6-Handed
UTG Hero (315,000)
MP1 (220,000)
MP2 (190,000)
CO Villain (88,000)
B (175,000)
BB (290,000)

Hero is dealt 3 3

Hero raises to 18,888, two folds, Villain jams for 88,000 2 folds, Hero calls 69,112

Should I be opening small pocket pairs UTG 6-handed deep in a tournament when the other stacks at the table are b/w 10 and 35 bb? Seems nitty to just fold here.

When my 2.36BB raise gets jammed for 11bb, can I fold? I'm getting close to 2 to 1 on a call.

I can see some merit to tightening up our opening ranges UTG and maybe ditching our worst pocket pairs, but I think an open is fine.

As played this is a pretty clear call w/o reads to the contrary.

I fold small pockets in spots like this. High risk of either getting shoved on or called and facing difficult postflop decisions. And if other stacks are on the shorter side you don't have the implied odds for set value.

Yeah I tend to tighten up the range (especially with the smaller pairs) when opening with a few reshove stacks behind.

As played though gotta call with that price

How tight do you think is appropriate? Just shift your range back a couple spots lik if you were UTG 8-handed?
