I couldn't have included 56s into Villains UTG2 Open Call range, could I?

Plan on the flop was to let them see a free card in hopes it helps them so I could extract some value from my nuts. The "bad" turn, I thought, was exactly what I wanted to see. Something they could work off of and/or hope my XC is a flush draw semi-bluff.

Line is fine. Just a cooler. Nothing you can do, and his pre flat is pretty bad.

You were getting stacked regardless. If you cbet flop small, which is the only sizing you’d ever bet, he would flat behind. If you check-raise flop he may fold which is a pretty bad result when you hold top set on a pretty dry board. You also can’t do anything but jam turn with your stack size. It happens, nothing to lose sleep over.

His pre flat isn’t great but it’s not terrible either. He was on the BTN, not UTG+2. It’s made worse because he only had 40bbs. He doesn’t reallt have the proper stack size to flat a hand this weak behind an EP raise.

Thanks guys

It's fascinating how easily you can judge a situation whereas I'm so indecisive about it, hah!

Seems like a cooler, not a lot to say about hero's play.
but BTN should have 3-bet pre, bet OTF and jam OTT.

I agree that this is pretty much a cooler but as we discussed in the other thread that I hope going forward you can put someone on this type of hand. 65s on the button can call a lot here. Also, I don't like your preflop raise of 2 BB, make it at least 3 BB at this stage. Later stages you can do a raise of 2.5 BB but a 3x raise is much better.
