wondering how "really close" in a callbot is anything other than a call or a fold

i think the spreadsheet might be out of date or perhaps I'm not using it correctly? when an 18/14 ships it with 10bb what range of hands is that? A-10+, 5-5+, K-J+, and high suited connectors.? Like 10% maybe? ok according to the spreadsheet it's a fold. But if he's wider say 2-2+, A-6+, K-9+, Q-9+, J-9+, 10-9, suited connectors and any two suited cards higher than 8. Then maybe it's a call?

ok let me expand a bit.

yeah i get where you're coming from. the fact that this is a thread and not just a standard hand you gloss over when reviewing your history implies that he's nutted here. if he opens 3x from a 8x stack it definitely does look nutted, but it's very tough to give general advice and say you should fold here with 77. i feel like this is a pretty standard stack off spot even though it looks obvious in retrospect.

          cool, ty.
been checking every 10 mins to see if someone responded.

I was thinking maybe x/r flop for A3cc and then barreling any turn that is a diamond/club/5/A? What you think about this? I'd need to c/r a pair of kings some times though and I wonder what else I checkraise this flop with besides sets and flush draws.

Damn you folded 77? cray. I'm rereading your post and didn't realize it was final table bubble but still, 6 bbs w/ 77! I snapcall if he openshoves so I like to remind myself that the two situations are fairly similar.

Hey man - you know if that were a rainbow flop hellsya! I'm cr that with 100% of flatting range preflop. I've been experimenting lately in the early stages and in the late stages when it's player villain and table/stage dynamic with cr certain dry flop textures or flops that are more likely to hit us as the bb pf callers. For example this flop K42r is a great cr flop as is 225 963 flops like that. Generally I like to have a little backdoor equity of course, but for the most part I'm playing the flop texture entirely. If they call I'm pretty much done with the hand because then it becomes a frivolous matter of bluffing a calling station which is never good. I'm raising for fold equity alone.

yahhh - like my man Lodden said it's very easy for villain to be "nutted" here so I made what was a likely a bad fold. I actually ended up winning this tournament but as pointed out in another thread that doesn't make up for a bad fold.
