Thanks for this guide. I was reading this as I played 4 tables of 180 mans and got 4th in one of them. I chose not to 3bet ship 22 4-handed vs an utg minraise. I had a 30k stack, utgr had 120k, blinds were 1.5/3k, utgr to 6534. Other stacks were 40k to my left and 70k to my right. Next hand I shipped 89o on the button (~5k already in the pot) and the tightest player at the table woke up with KK. I'm wondering if OP or anyone else here would have shipped or folded in the 22 spot. Couple people told me folding was better.

What is your name on stars Furo? I play a ton of 4/180's and have seen all of your strat posts and wondered who you are on stars.

I haven't read it all yet but it looks like a modern day shaundeeb 4/180 guide. Nice work.

That's easy fold given expected normal reads. 22 is 50% at best, so you're looking for fold equity. Even 4-handed utg is not so good to bluff from and thats not likely a bluff size bet (so hes less likely to fold), and chip leader is likely prepared to get other players allin (and you're the shortest, so hes not likely to fold). That's two aspects that make him not likely to fold. No fold equity, 50% is bad. good fold.

And Im fine with your next hand nice tourney

I would think that 'optimal playing conditions' (is that in the guide?) would be to not be taking part in other activities while playing ie. 'reading', watching TV, emails, talking on the phone, etc. hee hee hee

Thank you kind sir . I agree, he prob would have been priced in with all the money in there. I considered open ~minraising the next hand (89) but figured it would be bad since a high chance i get called by the bb and then im in a bad spot, or i get 3bet.

Looks like a lot of work op and seems to be consensus it's a good job. NH.

Could anyone comment on the guide's relevance to higher levels, $30-$80? How about for turbos?

Thanks

Hey just wondering why you advocate the following:

'22-66 Raise 3x 25% Fold 60% Call 15%
AJo/ATs- Raise 3x 50% Fold 50%'

Is this for some kind of range balancing? Because for the stakes youre aiming this at I think that is really unnecessary.

But on the whole I think its a really well written guide

table dynamics not balancing
on aggressive tables with alot of raises and 3betting i might just fold small PPs from early position since its unlikely that we will see a flop for 60 or 80 chips to justify setmining.
on passive tables with alot of players in the pot regardless of raises infront with terrible postflop play openlimping small PPs is fine since we are likely to see a cheap flop multiway.

Not to rain on any parade...but I think this should be in this thread too.

Nice poast... but don't think those ranges describe tight. Maybe I've just become a nit.
i dont think these ranges are overly tight or loose.

but i think i wrote somewhere that these ranges can be tighter or loser dependend on our stacksizes/table aggression/etc,etc

i did not link SFD's guide since its outdated (imo)

Good read, exactly what I needed. Been wanting to mix in a few MTTs every week to what I normally play. I tried a search for a 'pushbot chart' but I couldn't find a recent one; anyone care to send me one?

Or post one in this thread

Very cool post, thanks to all that contributed (as well as WTK300 for the quickly referenced chart).

Hopefully now the $11 and $22 180's fill up.. I bet that's why you wrote this to build everyone's confidence to play in them. Haha good job.
