Playing a 55$ knockout NL tournament... just looking for feedback on decision making process and tips..

It was the middle of the tournament and I was playing well, two tables left, 10 players each.
I just got moved to that table and was only there for 5ish hands and wasn't too involved... nobody there has ever really seen me play or knows anything about me.
I'd say I was 4th in chips and 2nd - 5th were pretty close to each other.
1st place had AT LEAST 5x if not more chips than 2nd. I've seen him get these large leads before... he's just playing crap from all positions, hard to get a read.
I've seen him play suited connectors from 1st position etc.

Anyways, blinds are 600/1200 I had over 15k chips (10k starting) I'm sitting in BB with 87 suited, 3 callers limp in, then a guy with about 2.5k chips to my right moves all in, so I called with great pot odds and so did the other 3 callers.

Flop is 885, all different suits. So I bet 3k chips, which in retrospect was probably a little small but I wanted to stick a probing bet out there and hope for a raise and I'd reraise... but one folded and other 2 called. The two that called were 1st and either 2nd or 3rd in chips.

Turn comes a 4, I move all in and get called by both guys.

J comes on river, I think they both checked it down.

Guy who moved all in 1st had nothing, I obviously had trips, 2nd or 3rd place guy had pair of J's with J9 (I think... drawing hand?) and chip leader had 67 and beat me with a straight.

I suppose I could've gone all in on the flop, but I didn't think that would get called at the time. Chip leader was playing anything to the end most (3/4) hands so getting a read on him was tricky and he just kept winning pots with crap...

I definitely didn't take my time on this and think like I should have, got excited with trips as it was by far the best hand I held all day, but I still am not sure what the "right" play would have been... lots of mistakes made...

Looking for feedback, thanks

postflop you have like 1 PSB left, you’re getting stacked no matter how you play this hand.

maybe a fold preflop if you’re worried about laddering up? seems too tight to fold but idk what icm says in this spot
