Need held with MTT when not deep Need held with MTT when not deep

I've been playing live small buy in MTT at Foxwoods casino. Typically $60 , $100 or $300 buy in and less than 100 players. Levels go up every 15 minutes so very few players are deep meaning that most players have 20 or less BBlinds.

I don't believe I understand the math well enough for these situations and I would like to do some reading on the subject. When it gets down to 2 tables I worry that I am making math mistakes especially in the blinds.

Can anyone offer me a book suggestion that they think covers this subject well?
Point me to any useful reading on the subject .
Thank you

Harrington on Hold'em II has a section on this. The theory is still applicable, but the books application of his theory is outdated, but still good to read section on M-Zones to understand short stack theory as a starting place.

One thing to keep in mind is that the value of your stack is relative to the rest of the field. Playing with 20bb when others have 60 or 80 is very different from when everyone has ~20bb. In the latter there isn't as much pressure to make moves.

That being said, pretty much any MTT material covers the topic of making adjustments to different stack sizes.
