I am currently playing small stakes MTT:s buy-ins ranging from 5 to 20 dollars. Looking to make this a serious thing and start moving up the stakes as high as possible. I have been playing poker for three years now and I am a solid winner at the low limits. Would be amazing to have groupchat with like-minded people and to get better at the game together.

I'd love to have the same thing. I'm currently selling my house so my time for poker is limited. Perhaps I'll give you a shout when things calm down. Joining a study group is on my poker "to-do" list.

What would be involved in a study group? I love discussing hands and strategy but I'm a recreational player who works full time and I don't have time for Skype meetings and stuff. Would be willing to do something where I can participate when convenient, like an email or whatsapp group. Although I suppose that isn't much different than what we do in the forum...

I am also intrested to find a study group. Currently I'm playing 1-3 dollars MTT on stars but trying to find some smaller tournaments on another site to not get stuck with variance.

In the same boat fellas. I work 12 hour night shifts (7 PM to 7 AM) but am off half the month. When I'm working I'm working but when I'm off I have time to grind and study.

Here's a thought for something we could do. I just finished Jonathan Little's most recent workbook where he and two other pros provide a series of hands with multiple choice options, followed by the pro's answers to the quiz. We could do something similar. Everyone submits a bunch of hands in a word document with multiple choice options and one of us collects them all together in one document. Then we circulate the document, complete the quizzes on our own time, and then discuss each hand and our answers one by one over email or whatsapp or whatever.

I found the format really engaging and helpful because the choices force you to think about each option and defend a particular choice over the others.

I'd be interested. Particularly like Darth's idea above.

I was thinking about mainly using whatsapp to discuss hands and startegy in different spots. Facebook and skype are also fine by me. In my opinnion whatsapp would be the easiest way.

Okay I guess since it was my idea I'll offer to coordinate. Here's what we'll do.

Everyone select a few MTT hands from their database and do the following:

1) Paste the hands into a Word document (make sure they are properly converted, not raw)

2) Include any necessary context (type of tourney, level, player reads, etc.)

3) Break the hands up street by street and include multiple choice options for what Hero should do on each street

4) Do NOT include results, but keep them accessible to conclude the discussions for tour hands

5) Send your file to sirgasleak@gmail.com

In the meantime perhaps someone else can set up a whatsapp group.
