Hi guys

Villain is unknown, althought he had reggish stats

He thought just for a few seconds to call the flop C/R but snapped called the second barrel

Any thought in any street is welcome....and is anybody going for 3 barrel? i decided to give up because i dont think he is folding any set or str8...not sure about any DP he could have

I post the results as i was really surprised with his hand...is calling the flop C/R w/ 2 overcards some "normal stuff"?? Also i think calling the second barrel is suicidal but keen on reading some thoughts

C`mon, fire on me guys !!

You probably feel like with 14k behind that he isn't folding river but you have to fire with this hand anyways.

The other flop OESD got there and you still have way more 7x than the CO and you are at the very bottom of your range.

I don't know, I wonder if responses are being influenced by the results.

I like flop and turn but that's a pretty terrible runout for your range when the Q and J both hit villain's opening range and clearly don't hit yours. Bluffing the river is basically trying to rep exactly 7x, plus you block draws you want him to have. I just don't see many hands in his range that call flop and turn will fold to a river bluff there, aside from his exact hand and maybe TT. You even block 88.

Def not results oriented to take one of your worst combos to get to the river and bluff with it, esp when it blocks so much value in 7x and T8s. We also have 97o that defends against CO along with every suited 7x hand. Also not 100% but pretty sure solvers will say to sometimes c/r Q9s here but not 100% sure on that. I don't think villain can call 88 on the turn but maybe they defend it again.

If you're checking this combo then what bluffs do you have instead that are worse and still block?

You don't have to bluff the river just because you get there with the bottom of your range, and I do think balance is overrated in spots like this. Blocking 7x value isn't all that relevant when villain is the preflop aggressor. He's not opening many 7x to begin with.

I like to ask myself the following questions when deciding whether to bluff the river, and the answer to all of them should be YES:

    1) Am I at the bottom of my range? YES
    2) Is my range really strong? NOT REALLY. We can have some 7x and T8 but almost no boats here.
    3) Is villain's range relatively weak? NO. He won't have 7x but he can have all boats as well as T8s (though we do block that one). Plus he could have easily turned/rivered a decent bluff-catcher, which won't be in our range and we don't block at all (AQ/AJ/KQ/KJ/QJ).

So I probably don't bluff at all here because I just don't see it as a good bluff spot. The other thing we have to consider is whether our value story is believable here. Are you x/raising 7x on that flop?

Ran a solve just using the sizes in the hand and solver wants to check 66% and bet 33% turn as played. If we check tho it wants to c/jam it on the turn basically always.

I forced the solver to pure bet the 86hh combo and it wanted to c/f river because we blocked too many fold combos. But the solver would have villain calling off half their 89hh combos and I think villain in this game folds those so it would sorta offset the blocked combos. It's pretty close tho in actuality. If we don't think people will find correct calls it's profitable. Plus we're not a solver and able to find the perfect ability to count that .9 combos are blocked of 5 total combos of all hands.
