I think the only way I would have played this differently was to make a larger 3Bet sizing, probably around 4-4.5x, but he did open to 3x preflop.

This just seems like a losing call on his part.

Thoughts?

what do you do if BB shoves on the preflop and CO calls?

In B4 "but what on earth were you repping?!?!"

First thing you need to know if whether he's splitting his range between 3x and 2x. If 3x is his "good hands" sizing then go ahead and fold.

Otherwise I'd pop it to 10-12bb. Folds are good, you want them.

Post-flop looks v good to me.

Your line doesnt make any sense at all
It's looks like AK trying to get folds
What other hands of ur 3b range do you play like this? Any overpair Tx or Jx don't overbet all in the turn
You need to work your lines off table
AP , pre is fine , flop bet it's okay ( you can bet even less than 33%) and turn i'd bet again 25-35% because checking capps your range pretty hard
Then you can decide Bluff river or not ( anywhere between 40-75% )

How can you tell that man what his overpairs do?

And it's not an overbet, it's ~pot.

What it's the purpose of potting the turn with QQ+? Sets? 2p? Draws?
U only let him play Easy , u allow a binare decision ... Call or fold ... He can be right or not but he can't commit any more mistakes in the hand

The bigger the pot, the more costly any mistake. 3 errors costing 5bb each is less significant than 1 error costing 50bb

The overpair+ hands want max value and the draws want max fold equity while ensuring they realise all their equity (you're betting 25% pot to fold?). If balanced correctly the value of bluff-catcher like 99 will be completely killed. 0EV. That doesn't sound pleasant or "easy" to me.

I don't think you played it badly at all. The only question is whether you had any relevant info about villain with respect to 3x sizing, call 3b frequency, and stickiness postflop. But it's not easy to get that much info from a 55 hand sample.

With this line you should get folds from a lot of his range, including his actual hand. You've repped strength on a board with two overcards to his hand, and he has no outs if he's wrong, so his call is terrible. You just got bitten by a fish this time. And you have 8 outs to the nuts if called (though in reality he was blocking 2 of those outs).

If you bet smaller on the turn and he shoves, you might be priced in to call anyway. And if you check and he shoves, you're forced to fold.

It's a gutsy line and clearly won't work against stations, but it will work often enough I think. When in doubt, opt for aggressive lines.

Every strategy it's different...
But it's really looks like whiffed AK
I agree vs stations it's not the best line. Maybe some regs/thinking players will fold to the turn bet
