Hey! I have some questions on the following hand that I played in a 50c turbo MTT on 888. I'm unsure what is the best line to take on the turn and, if I'm betting/checking, what is the purpose? Additionally, I am not 100% sure about the 3 bet preflop so if there's any reason not to 3 bet here I'd be interested in hearing.

The hand is fairly early in the tournament, at the time I don't think I had much info on my opponent but how would actions change if he was loose (aggressive or passive)?

UTG bets T120, Hero raises to T1,032, UTG calls T912

Turn: A (T3,552, 2 players)
UTG checks.........

Some of my thoughts:

- Don't think any ace is folding, but it is a pretty wet board so an ace would maybe want to lead the turn?
- Small bet on the flop and called reraise on a wet board so I feel like trapping is unlikely?
- If a hand like KQ, I only fear the K or J as Q would improve to straight.
- Diamond draw on board, put out small bet and called reraise so perhaps diamond draw, 77?

Given the above, I feel like the best line is either to check or put out 1/3ish pot bet to charge draws but interested in community thoughts!

I think the standard line here is to check back and bluff catch most rivers. You're right, his min bet/call on the flop looks more like a draw than a monster, but a fair amount of his draws now beat you like AJ or Axdd. Chances are if they're min betting the flop they aren't going to charge you too much on the river.

Okay that makes sense! Appreciate the response.

I don't know that I'm calling a river bet if I check turn. If it bricks we block like every single flush draw and straight draws.

3b a little bit more too.
