Played an online tournament and I'm intentionally leaving out the buyin and prizepool amounts to avoid any undue influences. We start off with 100bbs and the first hand of the tournament we pick up J

in MP and just smooth UTG's pf of 3bbs, and button 3bets to 10bbs and only Hero calls.

(24.5bbs)
Hero chks
Button cbets 20bbs

Hero? I didn't mind smoothing UTG as the tournament's just starting and button seems to be making typical 3betting due to position, but his cbet sizing on a dry flop is concerning since we could be playing for stacks with a slight overpair. How would you go about this scenario?

I'd prob still 3b pre and call this flop. If you're set mining pf then fold.

That's fine but if V continues this line, we're playing for stacks unless scare cards appear ott or otr...how confident are we esp playing oop?

Nah you're ok bro. Asking if I would backdoor 4b is a valid question but since I'm mostly 3b I would be flatting the villain 3b if I'm not 3b myself (barring reads).

I mean it depends on a lot of stuff. But if turn rolls off a blank and villain bets kinda big again I'd generally fold.
