ive only gone deep in a couple NL/PLO tournaments, i have been playing PLO cash for yrs and i dont have the first clue how to play tournaments really. although i understand icm and basic tournament ideas

can someone explain to me, like im a fifth grader: how do you win an MTT? how do we adjust our play in the different phases of the event?

im just curious how tournament players think about winning MTTs in the broadest terms

Early levels:
Play tight out of position. Play loose in position, especially with implied odds hands. U must gamble and accumulate chips early in the tournament to get a big stack. There are fish at your table and u need to get their chips before the other good players get them.

Mid stages:
Steal the blinds frequently and 3bet players who are also stealing blinds. Open/cbet against players who play loose from the blinds.

Bubble:
Play loose aggressive especially against short stacks. Play TAG against deeper stacks who are doing the same to you.

Short stack strategy:
Fold/shove there are charts out there. Learn the charts.

Deep stack strategy:
^VPIP. Float in position. Bluff scare cards.
