Now please help. I know i spew pre and OTT but i have a flop question. What is the checking range of villain OTF?
I think overpairs and XsX c bet this flop...so with what range is he checking with?
I mean i bet the flop because i think he has pure air and i can take the pot right now ; or if he calls now i have the initiative on the hand and nice SDV
pretty much any made hand from bottom pair to a flush, as well as air, is potentially in their checking range. Their raising range is polarized (so mostly bluffs/semi bluffs and strong hands) but even so, as shown here, they’re likely to check a strong made hand to keep you in considering position. Fish will trap to a fault w/ super strong made hands, it’s common for them to way overtrap even if they’re the aggressor preflop.
The bet on the flop makes sense, but when they call I’m pretty certain they have something, and when I get check-raised on the turn I’m almost certain they have the nuts and pretty much have to fold. You don’t even have a hand, you’re double barreling for fold equity, when you get check-raised all in you need to fold.
also consider stack sizes. A shove into your bigger stack is less likely to be a bluff than if the stacks were reversed.
