Just wondering if i could get some advise on a particular hand I played in a 5.50 tournament on stars. Got put in a spot on the river and would like some advice as to how to approach.

My logic was that I block 67 and 78 and 9T bets the flop, i have no diamond or club in my hand and I Dont block any of his bluff hands.

Also have no reads and very little stats on player so was pretty much an unknown.

Ehh don't think you can fold but it just reeks like a monster at these stakes. Honestly the problem is this, you want to play exploitable somewhat. Given sizing it's gotta be a fold. I don't think an overpair plays this way.

It's looks like a monster ( maybe a full.house but who knows at these stakes).
Your lead on the turn is sooo weak. What do you want to accomplishh with this???

Bet bigger on the turn. Leads OOP has to be at least 66% or more. You can even overbet here.
With a big lead you can check/call river more effectively.

As played, idk because I never lead 1/3.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah it was in fact a monster he had 78. My thinking of betting the 1/3 pot was that I though i was well ahead and just wanted to get some value if he had happened to have any pair.

You NEVER lead 1/3? Why not? I love betting 1/3 on mega dry flops that are polarized. I may even go 1/4 pot as well.

Are you saying c/c river if you bet turn bigger? Why not just b/f river instead?

1/3 doesn't put pressure on his range. You don't narrow his range with this bet. What value you can scratch if you are b/f trips on the river, ??

Why bet/folding river with a hand so up in your range??? You blew your equity in the pot in this way

Really strange but looks like 88 to me. Either way I don't think we can get away from it.

I'm leading a bit bigger on the turn. His decision won't be price sensitive at that point - he's either folding or calling regardless of bet size. So go larger to maximize value.

Villain's range can be pretty wide the way this hand played out. You could try for a river check to induce a bluff but you also can't be afraid of better hands here because they make up such a small portion of his range.

I meant we can get 1/3 sometimes on this flop and I'll bet smaller when I wanna value bet thinner vs polarizing.
