I didn't because if we get 3 bet by BB or BTN i suppose ICM dictates a fold right?

In fact not knowing what to do i decided to fold and wait patiently for some short stack to bust

Do you have the payout structure for this tournament?
I feel that from ICM stand-point BTN does not have much incentive to 3-bet push here because if he loses, SB suddenly gains prize equity without doing anything.
If BTN folds, and SB shoves, I think that hero can ICM-profitably call - i.e. SB has to push with any ace and ATo is ahead of a lot of Ax hands.
However, it can be checked in ICM solver like HRC, but the payout structure is required.

I think plan A is to carry on playing aggressive poker - so yes plenty strong enough to raise.
If either MP or CO is 3 betting wide it gets trickier and we need to tighten opening range and widen 4 bet shove range - so maybe in this instance we could open fold. But only if they actually are playing aggro - just because it's a decent spot for them to 3 bet wide we shouldn't assume that they will.

The GTO way to think about min/raise possible fold is not to worry about open/fold situations. But to be concerned that you are not overfolding. It is certainly OK to open then have to fold to a shove.

What you don't want to do is open so wide that you are forced to fold so much that you cannot even meet MDF requirements. If you are able to call off with about 1/2 your range, you will almost always be ok.

I open AT here, but my range is not too wide here. I guess about 16%, so my call off range is something like 88+, AJ+. Hands like 77/AT/KQs are all borderline depending on the range of the shove. I'm ok with opening this and having to fold.

Tough spot, seems like folding is ok given stacks behind and we need to preserve our stack somewhat.

I have no problem open folding this utg. Don't want to get 3b and don't want to get called by a larger stack and have to play OOP. And with 20bb I would rather conserve chips for bigger moves or better spots.
