Buy-in $11 - Global Poker

Hand is played on a final table. Everyone is in the money.

Hero UTG 90bb chip leading
Villain BB 50bb - Villain is tagged lose maniac.

Hero opens 2bb from UTG Td9d. Everyone folds. BB calls. Pot - 5.4bb

Flop Tc7d4h. BB donks 3bb. Hero calls. Pot - 11.4bb

Turn Qd. BB donks 8.55bb. Hero calls. Pot - 28.5

River 3h. BB donks 38.8bb and is all in. Hero folds.

I folded the river holding the 9 blocker. Majority of villains bluffs should be 89.

What will be an ideal calling range on the river? Is there any merit in raising the flop?

Does he have a habit of donking?

I have seen him donk once before but didn't get to see his hand at showdown.

This thought process only makes sense if villain is somehow balanced. People balancing their ranges don't donk the flop imo

I would have had the same line as yours though.
Flop and small turn bets indicate a draw or weak hand (small Tx, 7x...).
So the big bet on a blank river is hard to read.
I would just let go...

I like the fold given our combo and the river. That said, I'm very skeptical and would be down to call v some/sometimes. Given we opened UTG (I'm assuming 8-9 handed), called two streets and they jammed 1.36x pot we can call KT+ / AT+ and be fine with it. This is assuming we don't open insanely wide UTG as cl and don't 2bet flop with AT+ every time.
