Being so close to the bubble would folding QQ have been the right move? I ran the equity afterwards and QQ had about 46% 3 way against what range they might call a 5bet shove with.

If you worried about bubble spots in small tourneys (which you shouldn't be) just flat pre. Also hate the 3 bet sizing make it like 28k-32k
But nope I wouldn't be folding here in this spot even tho btn does look super strong

from just looking at it without stats. think button has a nutted range to 3bet with 20bb rather than ship. MP1 not really worried about. not folding either. what was the outcome?

I just watched dutch boyd bubble a tourney with queens on his stream last night so maybe I'm a bit biased. I'm folding here, even if we may be ahead.

Remember, if it's the bubble for us, it's the bubble for the other players as well. So they're likely tightening up their ranges too. The 4bet looks really strong, and the the flat behind makes me even more worried. I think maybe JJ or AQ flat there, and that 4bet could only be AK or QQ+. So I'm folding since we're not really deep enough to flat.

That's nitty but I think that's my play here if I'm truly concerned about the bubble. How big is the bubble?

Also 3bet bigger if you're gonna 3bet.

Bubble was for $32.50. I feel like I don't worry too much about the bubble spots but I put them on similar ranges you posted about. But I saw a near triple up that late and couldn't talk myself out of it.

BTN had QQ, MP1 KK.

once you put in the 3bet can't really fold. obviously you should try to make the money when you can but thats not really how you make money in tournaments. Most lossing MTT players actually cash more than winning players. You are playing for the top few spots not a mincash. BTN needs to have only KK+ to fold and MP just flatted so defiantly still has JJ,AK, and sometimes TT here and IMO its pretty hard to put someone on that range. You said you have 43% 3 ways which is a great spot to be in and should be super happy to take it. Obviously you ran into literally the worse possible spot but sometimes the both have AK or one has AK and the other has JJ or sometime you GII KK or AA with 20% and massive overlay. I guess there is a situation that exists where i fold here, but making a habit of folding QQ 30BB is not a good one.

As previously stated, you need to 3bet larger, anywhere from $24-$27k. As played it's actually a pretty gross spot. MP is certainly not capped here by any means and 98% of the time BTN has a super strong range when they 4bet small as opposed to jamming with a 20bb stack as there are probably <1% of players at this stake capable of realizing how super sexy of a 4bet bluffing spot this would be.

In game, I probably flat cause it's super hard to fold QQ pre getting this kind of price.

3b to like 27 - 32k. fold to that button 4bet and that call by initial raiser (assuming he's not a moron) is also super strong.

Button cold min-4b for 40% of his stack looks super-nutted.... Hard to fold queens though... Would depends on any info or reads I had on button. If absolutely no info then maybe cringe and fold and don't tell anyone.

never in 2 trillion years are we folding pre here. MP1 is just joining the ride and should fold when we re-jam. yes they may have KK or AA but AK is also very likely. We just cant pass this spot IMO! what happened?
