My background is cash games (5/5, 5/10, the occasional 5/10/20), but I’ve been trying to get into the tourney scene. This is my first non-free roll tournament that I played- $275 buyin, 50K guaranteed. 25-30 min levels. I’m posting a few spots that I wasn’t sure what to do. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

300/600/50, 52K
Hero with KTo in BB

1) Huge preflop raise i'd fold.
2) I'd squeez to cut number of player on the postflop and cbet many flops. They most likely have small pocket pairs, something like A2s, small suited connector, some fish with big VPIP might call with any two. Some bad players might have AA or something like that so no need to be overagressive.
3) Even if his 3b range is TT+; AQ+ you are having 47% equity. So there is no need to 4bet. But JJ is too strong to fold. So i would call.
4) As a BB you have a nice pot odds to call but again this big raise. I think its still a call.
5) Of course fold here. Even against UTG 66 is bad and yet someone is decided to jam 20 bb against UTG.
6) Fold. 20 bb effective stack is clearly not enough for set mining.
7) Fold. Short stack decided to raise instead of push - its rather a monster.

Hand 2 oh my, the short stacks are too tiny to do this with such a marginal hand. If you do, you need to shove atc on flop if only one of them calls.

I just let this go since CO can just easily reshove and then OMC will isolate.

If these short stacks are that bad that they will limp fold then it's fine. Checking is fine too. I'd prefer an Ace, pair or suited broadway though.

Hand 3
300/600/50, 58K
Hero with JJ in UTG open to 1300
Tight OMC 3b to 3400 (16K behind)
Hero?
Flat.

Hand 4
400/800/75, 48K
Hero, BB with JTss
UTG1 tight OMC to 3600 (16K behind)
Folds to Hero?
Flat

Hand 5
800/1600/200, 107K
Hero with 66 in SB
UTG open 3500
Fold to BTN, jam 33K
Hero?
Fold

Hand 6
800/1600/200, 70K
Hero 22 on BTN
UTG limp (19K), LJ raises to 4500 (30K behind)
Hero?
Flat, fold to rejam.

Hand 7
1K/2K/300, 82K
MP1 5K (21K behind)
KTss SB, Hero?[/QUOTE]
Depends on MP stats and bb stack, but I probably jam.
