This was a really hard spot for me. This player was an overly aggresive fun player who wasnt absolutely terrible, but had already made non sensical bluffs, and just overall weak plays. I Was in 4th of the final 15, and he was in 3rd. Due to ICM I had a pretty easy trip to the final table, but I just didnt know what to do here. It seems pretty unluckythe situation I was dealt, but should I have just nit folded? I also recognize he got extremely lucky, because flopping top 2 and betting as big as he did shows his level of play

Sometimes it’s just your time to die..

I don’t mind how you played it given how aggressive they are. Would probably x/ shove flop or Thurbur tho

I don't think 15 left is a significant enough juncture to consider folding this BB v BTN. Would consider 3b with all off suit Ax at this depth but A8o feels a natural flat particularly if he's not folding A9o.

Don't think his flop size is that bad and doesn't feel theres any getting away given your perception of his image and how he's manipulated SPR by the river, although there are many player types who have zero air by river and are never jamming AK.

I would of at least check/shoved the turn.
I would bet on the flop OOP as well.
I would of check/raised flop as played.
I would of called river as played.

Why would you ever lead this flop?

If you want to avoid getting into nasty spots, just check/shove flop. It's probably also the highest EV option. You should have SDs and FDs here that do the same.
You're definitely not in the chip position to make slowplays with such a hand. If you we're the chipleader and the other guy second in chips slowplaying that flop would be much better, but check/shoving is most likely generally the best option here.
